Temporary Orange Box was purchased in the late fall of 2007. After My Computer broke down, I quickly needed a new computer capable of handling at least the most basic tasks, which were at the time writing articles with Word, being able to surf the Internet and also print. Gaming was a far away secondary need.

I bought Temporary Orange Box from a small computer outlet in Jyväskylä. The thing cost me 150 € plus shipping. The computer was a Fujitsu-Siemens Pentium Processor-based 1,60Ghz machine. I can't remember the exact amount of RAM, but I believe it was over 260 in any case. The hard drive was split between two separate ones, and their total amount of space was about 100 G's. This was more than enough, but the problem with the machine naturally was that it wasn't that good when it came to playing newer games or rolling with newer software. It did, however, roll real well with older software and games. Me and my friend played Quake 1&2, Doom, Daikatana etc. with it a few times.

The troubles with the machine started fairly late in its' operational life. The F-Secure Anti-Virus software started to slow the machine down considerably, and due to one reason or the other, I still did keep on using it. The computer could be used much more conveniently after shutting down the Anti-Viral software, which I often did afterwards. Still, though, the computer was oddly slowly but yet again I had to make do with what I had. And if you're wondering about the name of the machine - well, let's just say that the outer "box" of the machine had some oddly Orange stripes on it for decoration, and thus the name stuck.

This computer was my mainstay choice from the fall of 2007 up until the early Autumn of 2009, when Temporary Orange Box was finally replaced by The Desktop Triplezer.

As a sidenote, I still have The Temporary Orange Box. I am not going to throw it away, since it will serve as a back-up machine in case something happens to the Desktop Triplezer. The Temporary Orange Box can also be used for downloading all sorts of stuff, and then moving them to the portable hard disk without having to resort on downloading all sorts of shit to new machine.
