Fränti ja Vahanen
From The D Archives
Mr. Fränti and Mr. Vahanen, a Finnish duo of tourists were taken hostage by a group of Guerillas in the year 2000. The kidnapping and subsequent imprisonement of the pair took place in the highly volatile region of the Philippines known as the Jolo Islands. The two men were held hostage in the small Guerilla camp located on the island for over four months, after which they were released among a small group of other international hostages held by the same Guerrillas.
After the two were freed, they made a book about their time being held hostage by the Guerillas. Their return to Finland was also a celebrated event back in 2000.
