Certainly a worthy sequel to the Doom series and at the same time a successful remake of the original one. This game has it all: great atmosphere, ass-kicking weapons and certainly well designed monsters. The bad sides of this game are, quite simply, the shitty lightning system which becames quite frustrating after you can't see the monsters lurking in the shadows for the six billionth time - and also the game seems a bit scripted sometimes. Still, its a great game - and could've certainly been worse.
