a national military exercise from way back in 1998. It took place during winter, and was apparently a rather shitty field exercise, as they usually are.

[1] A diary of a certain conscript from an artillery unit in that exercise. This diary seems like the best way of describing army service in the modern era. This diary just explains everything so well ranging from the various personalities taking part in the service as well as commenting on the general feelings that people have during the service.
