Kainuun Prikaati (KaiPR) is one of the biggest military garrisons and training centres for the Finnish Defence Forces. It is located near the city of Kajaani, in the city district of Hoikankangas.

The garrison specifically belongs to the army (land forces), and is also one of the two offensive warfare bigades available for fast deployment in case of a conflict. The other being the Karjalan Prikaati(KarPR) at Vekaranjärvi. About 4000 conscripts serve at Kainuu every year.

The following units form the operative elements of the brigade:

Kainuun Jääkäripataljoona (Kainuu Jaeger Battalion)
Kuopion Pataljoona (Kuopio Battalion)
Kainuun Tykistörykmentti (Kainuu Artillery Regiment)
Pohjan Pioneeripataljoona (Bothnian Engineering Battalion)
Pohjois-Suomen Viestipataljoona (Signal Battalion of Northern-Finland)
