David Horton
From Tekken City
David Christopher Horton (Born August 19, 1987 in Stevenage, England) is an English footballer playing defender for Tekken City in the English FA Premier League. He joined the club from Stevenage Borough on a free transfer after being spotted for talent by scout, Sepha Ucani. He wears the number 5 jersey.
[edit] Early Career
Horton's only real club as a professional was Stevenage Borough, the club in his hometown, where he would be raised as a youth trainee and a senior player. During his youth days he played as an attacking midfielder and then later on, a striker. Once he has joined the senior team with brother Mark, who still plays for Stevenage to the present day, he was allocated as a defender because there were too many players filling up the positions he was strong in. In 3 seasons he impressed in defence, and was given the award for best defender in the Football Conference League.
[edit] Tekken City
Horton had failed to sign a new contract at Stevenage, leaving him available on the market, to be picked up by another club and in November of 2006, he was signed on a free transfer by Tekken City. Horton found things difficult to adapt at first into the starting lineup because of the constant appearances week-in-week-out of Graham Mikes and Lúcio in defence.
However, the start of the 2007-2008 season has brought out the best out of Horton. He is now beginning to play in a regular starting XI. So far this season, he has proved to be one of the best upcoming youngsters but just at Tekken City but also in the Premiership. He has already been dubbed as one of the contenders for PFA young player of the year award.
