Club Career

Early Career

Coren, despite not appearing much in the senior side for Division 2 side Brentford, was a regular for the Reserve side and was being watched constantly by scouts representing some of the Premiership clubs. He was nearly loaned to Leeds United during the 2003-2004 season in the club's attempt to avoid relegation to the Coca-Cola Championship. However, Coren rejected the offer to play for the club after revealing that he would much prefer to join a club competing for silverware.

Tekken City

In Janurary 2004, Coren joined Tekken City for a fee of £275,000 from Brentford on a 5-year-contract. Although it seemed as though at the beginning of the 2004-2005 season he was behind the likes of Olegs Karavajevs and Stipe Pletikosa, he made an account of himself bot only by starting a majority of cup games and keeping a series of clean sheets. He was also getting selected for regular England squads, picked by then England boss, Sven-Goran Eriksson.
