Saffery was born in [[London]]. He was drafted into the Tekken City youth academy back in 2006 when he was just 16. He played for the youth team playing as a left-sided midfield player. However, he did not break into the reserve team until July 2007. His first competitive game was a friendly game away to Edgware Town, where again, he played as a left-midfielder.

In 2007, Saffery continued to impress Tekken City management as he helped the reserve team to the final of the 2007-2008 FA Youth Cup, which they lost to Aston Villa 2-1. The following season, he represented the England Under 18 side, as well as playing for the Tekken reserve side, and again, he impressed.

Saffery was born in London. He was drafted into the Tekken City youth academy back in 2006 when he was just 16. He played for the youth team playing as a left-sided midfield player. However, he did not break into the reserve team until July 2007. His first competitive game was a friendly game away to Edgware Town, where again, he played as a left-midfielder.

In 2007, Saffery continued to impress Tekken City management as he helped the reserve team to the final of the 2007-2008 FA Youth Cup, which they lost to Aston Villa 2-1.
