   * Advice from Prof. Culpepper:
         o We will have to select the bushings for the carriage riding on the two rails
         o We will have to choose the lead screw, the bearings for the end of the lead screw, and the lead screw nut
         o We wil have to design & manufacture the lead screw/carriage flecture
         o We will have to choose the spindle shaft & bearings
               + We will be given the housing for the spindle shaft
         o We wil have to make the decisions on the bolts/threads for the bolted joints
               + The holes will be placed for us, we will tap them ourselves
               + We will select the bolts & nuts for purchasing
               + We must do the math to back up our decisions
         o We will have to do most/all of the design & manufacturing for the drive train system
               + Chain, gears, belt?
               + Plan on this being a "huge time investment"
         o We will be given the chuck/collet & tailstock
         o We can assume for now that we will be given the crossfeed (though it might not be definite)
         o Strongly recommended to waterjet pieces (frees up geometry contraints & production time)

The milestone is due on the date listed. The Gantt chart (to be made later) will show the overlaping work times.

         o 2007.03.22 (R) - HTM for structures
         o 2007.04.10 (T) - Drive train rough design & brainstorming
         o 2007.04.12 (R) - Shafts done & bearings chosen...ready to be balanced by Prof & TAs
         o 2007.04.19 (R) - Bolted joints math & selection
         o 2007.04.20 (F) - Flecture design
         o 2007.04.24 (T) - Final Drive Train Design
         o 2007.04.26 (R) - Flecture prototype
         o 2007.05.03 (R) - Final flecture

                                    - Lead screw, lead screw nut, lead screw bearings selected

         o 2007.05.11 (F) - Drive Train completed
         o 2007.05.15 (T) - Report Draft1
