I made the logo in the upper corner of the screen with 5 minutes and The Gimp, and I intend to make a fancier and bolder logo using the same resources plus many more minutes. Please put any logos or logo suggestions below, so everyone can help to pick one out for the team. -Pierce Lopez

:The charge thing is a nice concept but, at the risk of sounding trivial... while an open circuit can have an electric field in that manner, I don't think that two open circuits (two disconnected batteries) can. I would humbly suggest that in the next version you connect the bottom ends of the batteries with a wire, then there will be an electrical potential difference on the opposing open contacts of the batteries, and thus an electric field... it just sort of strikes me that a logo for a scientific activity should make some scientific sense... sorry for being a pain about it though. -Pierce Lopez 16:52, 24 January 2006 (PST)

Sorry Pierce, but style triumphed over scientific feasibility in this case.  FIRST may be an activity geared to the scientific side, but I think that people will be more concerned with how cool it looks rather than if it is possible.  The team voted (sorry you weren't there) and this design won by a couple votes over the other designs presented. -Aaron Schultz
