Weapons

Cruentus Vorax: B-ranked Fatal Curve(+3) Mithril (+2) Perfect Balance(+1) Handsword

This is the sword Renata found among the mud of the Dostan Fens. It is her most treasured possession and favorite sword. Although it is favorite and strongest, this sword sees little combat. She only draws this blade only on strong opponents she deems worthy. The sword it self has a chilling aura, it is obvious the sword holds more power than it shows. Renata believes that if she becomes stronger she will unlock the hidden power of the blade.

Gravis: C-ranked Heavy(-1) Basket Hilt(+0) Mithril(+2) Thin Blade (+1) Keen Edge (+1) Handsword

Gravis is the sword Renata originally bought for training, but it is frequently used for assasinations. The weight of the blade (heavy) makes it ideal for strength and speed training. Suprisingly Renata is able to swing and strike fluidly with it, making many wonder how fast she is able to swing Cruentus Vorax, as it is much lighter.

Appearance

Renata has straight, shoulder length blond hair which has a stunning appearance, not only in the sunlight, but the moonlight as well. Her dark brown eyes complement her hair, as they stand out just as much, further adding to her radiance. These features alone give Renata the ability to command attention. Renata posesses a average-slender build, with decent height. She is much more agile than your average assassin, allowing her to wear some armor, with little penalty to her speed. The armor she wears, colored purple, consists of a full torso plate, with shoulder guards, shin and forearm guards, and gauntlets to protect her hands, as well as block with. The armor is deceptively heavy, not nearly as heavy as knights, of course. Underneath the armor she wears normal clothes all colored black, short-sleeved shirt and pants, under which is something much like a body suit. It is often thought these layers of clothes would cause her to succumb to heat exhaustion during battle, but, aside from the armor, her clothes are made of a light frabric that doesn't hold heat well. To counter this when she is in places of lower temperature, she often wears a small cloak, which holds in heat. Attached to her bodysuit, sewn and made by Renata herself, is a facemask, oftened used to conceal her identity, or keep dust out of her face.

Personality

Renata is very clever, noted as a "Master of Deception." She can appear to have a friendly, out-going personality. Or a cheerful, optimistic one. She is very good at faking either one, but they do not show her true self. They are simply shadows of her old personality. Now she is a hardened assassin. Renata has become cruel and unfeeling, culminated not only by her profession itself, but by her own tradgedy. As long she recieves her payment she is willing to kill anyone. Given her beauty it was a suprise she wasn't plauged by vanity, ever since she became an assassin however, her looks are just another tool to get what she wants. The only thing she loves is demonstrating her sword technique. Renata considers assassination an art form, when performed correctly that is.

Biography

Renata was born into a small mercenary company, to Antonius and Claudia Camilius. Antonius, who was the leader of the group, was a cruel an unstable man, many sondiered him mad. Antonius would constantly abuse Renata, and then leave her alone to cope with the pain. Her mother was no different. The other mercenaries were another story. They were easily taken in by her cute appearance and cheerfulness. They often doted upon her, giving her gifts and making sure she was cared for (because her parents obviously weren't). Renata was loved by the mercenaries, but they hated her parents. It wasn't long before there was a coup and Renata's parents were ousted, the mercenaries refused to let Renata leave with her abusive parents and took her in. The mercenaries, now her new family, bestowed upon her a new surname, Callistus, meaning beauty. From this point on Renata's life improved drastically, it really lifted her spirits. She often helped by cooking and cleaning, although in truth she really wanted to take up the sword and fight along side her family. Allowed to start training with a sword, Renata trained hard, often overworking herself. She was much more agile than the other trainee swordsman, making it apparent that her role was that of the myrmidon. Realizing that speed was her skill she would train with swords heavier than any myrmidon would use, building speed as well as some strength on the side. When she was 14, her skill about that of the average myrmidon, Renata started to take easy jobs. About 2 years later she was strong enough to hold her own against the best in her mercenary company. Renata was very young, though very skilled. Trusting in her fully she was unanimously voted leader of the company.

Renata proved to be a great leader, gaining quite a bit of fame, attracting richer clients. It was about 4 months after her 17th birthday, when Renata and about half her men were hired by a wealthy old man named Lucius. The majority of Lucius' bodyguards were gone and he needed extra protection. Upon laying his eyes on young Renata, he was driven crazy, he wondered how such a person could be found living among "vile" mercenaries. He offered to let Renata live with him, live the life of a noble, in return abandoning her mercenary life style. Renata politely refused eveytime, laughing at even the thought of abandoning the people who had put their trust and lives in her hands. 2 months later Lucius' soldiers returned and his contract with Renata was up. Intent on keeping her around Lucius offered Renata a permanent bodyguard possession with generous pay, but to no avail. Lucius knew that if she would not leave her mercenaries, he would have to get rid of them. He sent his strongest warrior, a Praetorian formerly of the Imperial Guard, to do the deed. Renata and her men were making the long trek back to their headquarters, eager to return home. They eventually reached their destination, they were suprised a celebration being thrown for their homecoming. Everyone, especially Renata, was in good mood, that was until a mysterious man walked in on the festivities. He was wearing large and by the looks heavy purple armor, carrying a shield, also purple. Before Renata could question why he had come, the man drew a large sword and attacked. Renata could not believe the strength and efficientcy of the man, killing a person with one swing then quickly moving to the next. She was completely horrified and stunned by the slaugther of her friends and family, unable to even draw her blade. The man, making short work of the others now turned to Renata. Still stunned, she was knocked out and carried off, back to Lucius.

Renata lived with Lucius for the remainder of year, obeying his orders. She was constantly watched by the piercing eyes of the Praetorian, ensuring she did not escape. Her comrades' death caused her to fall into a deep depression that drained away her cheerfulness. She continued to bide her time, waiting for a chance to escape. One night she got her chance, the guardmans watching her fell asleep. She took the guard's sword, concealing it, making her way to Lucius' room. Lucius was still awake, he was happy to see her, that is until she took out the sword. Renata ran the sword completely through Lucius' body, taking out several organs and killing him almost instantaneously. Renata's revenge wasn't complete yet she still had one more person to kill. As she turned towards the her eyes met that of her next target, the Praetorian. She engaged him in battle. The battle was fierce with there being no clear sign of the victor. Both of them were starting to feel fatigue, affecting the Praetorian more. Renata was eventually able to disarm the Praetorian, then taking a strong swing to his chest creating a large, deep, fatal wound. After making sure he was dead, Renata continued to kill the rest of the guards, Lucius' once proud residence was turned into a truly nausiating sight of gore.

Having nothing to return to, Renata began to travel Maris using the gold she took from Lucius. She resumed her sword and agility training, buying heavy armor and a heavy sword. On her travels she picked up some techniques of the swordsmen of the different countries. She blended them together with her own forming a formidible fighting style. Renata traveled to the Dostan Fens to test her new found skill on the powerful monster that lie there. Training one day, she was able to find an object hidden in the muck. The object turned out to be a sword. The sword was suprisingly sharp, although it appeared as though it had been lost in the fens for quite a long time. Renata dubbed the sword Cruentus Vorax. Now 26 years of age, she has finally perfected her technique. Out of money as well, Renata was in position to not only become a mercenary again, but an assassin.

After many assassinations, Renata is among the best. Continuing to absorb other sword styles into her own her skill grows. She sought out a place where her talents could be used to their full potential, this place was among the ranks of the Dark Brotherhood.

Other/Notes

-Renata is ambidextrous, and can wield both her swords at once, but this is extrmely rare.

-Renata's armor is an odd mix of both steel and Mithril, making it strong, but a bit heavy. Without her armor, she gains more mobility and speed.
