Wendi's
From Stmargarets
Wendi's is a quaint little donut shoppe located in the heart of the Ortega Business Center, a short walk from the SMES campus. Aptly named for the scintillating hostess, Wendi's is an afterschool hot-spot for athletes, scholars, parents, and blue-collar workers alike.
Students have embraced Wendi's in their frequent visits during advisory and after school.
The employees have come to know us as not only customers, but friends. They have even created custom smoothies for a few much-appreciated store-goers and posted an SMES schedule next to their register.
The frequent Wendi's patron (those that leave a hefty tip, of course) may enjoy free pastry creations around closing time. A quiet outdoor patio complete with plastic and metal furniture can be found outside the store. This cozy veranda has a pleasant view of the SMES/Ortega Business Center parking lot.
Wendi will now deliver your food to the back gate upon request; however, she is notorious for getting your orders wrong due to the extreme language barrier between you and the other girl that sometimes answers the phone. There is a $5 minumum for delivery orders.
The Menu
The baked goods menu includes doughnuts (of course), miscellaneous pastries, bagels, soups and muffins.
A daring smoothie menu consisting of over 10 flavor combinations offers something for every taste imaginable. Recently added to the Wendi's scene was a fridge housing a myriad of chilled beverages including (but not limitied to) the ever-popular Red Bull, Monster brand Energy Drink, SoBe and SoBe Light (not recommended), juices, colas, and water for all the boring folk out there.
Also a new addition to the Wendi's family is a self-contained freezing apparatus in which dwell delectable ice cream treats. This freezer is often bombarded by rambunctious SMES students, especially those still clad in the juvenille Crimson Sweater.
Gift shop trinkets
Often lining the shelves of this fine establishment are Asian potteries, plants, and small glass paraphenalia, all of which can be purchased by the general public!
No one has ever been witnessed buying a gift shop item, and many wonder what purpose the trinkets actually serve.
