- | As a member of the class of 2006, I venture to add a few fads that the originators of this site cannot be aware of. The first must be not only the continuation but the acceleration of chess. It has risen from a game played the few and the proud, to perhaps what one might even call "cool". As evidence, i can faithfully put forward a game witnessed last week between Andrew Guichet and Andy Morrisson, surrounded by at least 5 other of their senior friends. Chris Knight, the tradition lives on!

- | On this note, another new thing this year (although i am not sure if it falls under the category of fads) is to come out of your nerd closet i.e. joseph lydon. Remaining just as awkward and red-headed as ever, J-LO as he is affectionately known to some, has become hotter than a tamale. More on this as I try to forget the fact that a certain female member of '07 told me they believed him to be "so friggen hot"

- | The one part that was a true fad was the game of Kemps. Promising at least 5 games going on at any given time, the tartans were temporarily crazed with the Kemps spirit. With Even Gurrerro, Michael Magill, Matt Furman, Brendon Salisbury, and Scotty Edgecomb to be the "godfathers" they were virtually unbeatable, although you cannot say that many underclassmen did not try. This fad has since fallen to its grave,but at one time it was big enough that the ASB had significant concerns about placing tables at the Homecoming Dance in fear that people would play cards instead of dance.. depressing ...
