Though initially Steph simply made her costume herself, Batman and Robin eventually helped her upgrade her Spoiler outfit with night vision lenses and kevlar cape and body suit.

Steph's costume has changed subtly through the years, not to mention there's her World Without Young Justice and regular Robin costumes in addition to the Spoiler one. So let's take a look! Complete with commentary by yours truly! (Hey, I put hard work into this wiki. Allow me this one non-objective indulgence!)

Costume #1 (Robin 3-5)

Commentary: Okay, so it's pretty gaudy. Steph looks a lot better in purple and black than in pink and blue. And the white ropey-things make the costume way too busy. But it's got the foundation for future Spoiler costumes- the hooded cloak, the mask, the legband, the sash...and it's practical! Steph is one of the few superheroines around who is actually clothed like someone who's protecting themselves in a fight- no heels, pants, full body covering, and a mask that actually conceals her identity.

Costume #2 (Robin 16)

Commentary: Steph has thankfully switched to black here, thank goodness. The costume is still too busy, the underwear-on the outside thing does nothing for Steph and I like the purple (sorry, eggplant) better than the pink.

Costume variant (Batgirl 27)

Commentary: this is generally the costume Steph showed up in in other comics. It's cute and practical, no underwear on the outside. Usually one thigh high boot to go with the leg band, which is unique. Look at her big eyes! I love the big eyes! I do like purple better than pink though.

Costume #3 Robin (?-99)

Commentary: Oh Steph. You're so zany. I love the eggplant and the big eyes. Your ponytail is cute sometimes, but mostly it looks silly. You look much better without it. And you've still got underwear on the outside, silly.

Costume #4 (Robin 100-present):

Commentary: All right! Lost the ponytail, all purple, black mask with big eyes, cool sash and utility belt and the legband! Granted, I'm not the hugest fan of thigh high boots, but these look no more movement hindering than her spandex, so...nice costume, Steph!

World Without Young Justice costume:

Commentary: I love this costume. The green pants, the spiffy mask that's a throwback to her father (Hey, if covering his eyes makes no one recognize Tim Drake, who says Steph can't get by with a mask that conceals her lower face?), the tunic, the black utility belt, the practical and spiffy looking short hair...again, not the biggest fan of thigh high boots, but I can let that go.

Robin (Robin 126-128)

Commentary: Well...it's Tim's costume...with a skirt added...and a weird headband.... I like the WWYJ one better, but this is practical by superheroine standards.
