Science Concept: Different animal coverings insulate in cold temperatures.
Using "Blubber Gloves" filled with Crisco, feathers, fur, feathers and Crisco, fur and Crisco, and air students explore what it might be like for polar bears and penguins in the polar climate.
Students compare a blubber covering to a feather covering.
After one minute which hand is coldest?
