Tanya Wimer: We chose a concept that is commonly discussed in the media.  We realized that students would come into the classroom with many preconceptions and possible misconceptions.  Hopefully after participating in these activities, students will understand the basic concept and have more questions to explore later.

Charleen Fisher: Our group worked to integrate the information that the scientists presented each morning.  We also asked Chris Petrich, one of the scientists, to review our gear up and explore activities to ensure an accurate portrayal of the scientific concepts before the finalization of our lesson plan.  The STEP program offered ample opportunity for the development of scientifically based curriculum.
