History

The Royal Canadian Armed Forces (CF) history is usually classified, however this emergency that is going on has made it so that the entire CF history file can be read, for hopes that others might help the CF in their mission.

A few years ago, during a time of peace, an unknown military force now known as the NTF (Neo-Telonian Forces) suddenly appeared literally out of the ground and attacked. Due the surprise of the attack, the CF was split up into various parts of the country. However, due to the CF having better technology than the NTF, they were able to regroup in Ottawa, where they held off NTF attacks on the parliament. Eventually, they were able to set up a convoy route from Ottawa to various ports in Nova Scotia, to the Gaspé Peninsula and even all the way up to Newfoundland and Labrador. At first, they only sent civilians and important personnel (like every single member of the Canadian government), however they knew that once everyone was evacuated, the CF would have to escape as well. During the night, every solider, pilot and JTF-2 trooper of the Canadian Forces was spirited away to the various ports. The next day, the NTF found Ottawa, Toronto, Montréal, Quebec City and many other cities and towns across Eastern Canada to be empty. The only place that CF still held out was Nova Scotia, for it was here that the CF would then attack again. A similar program was tried in the Western half of Canada, where disgruntled oil workers in Alberta revolted against the NTF. The CF then sent in help to create another convoy path from Calgary, Edmonton, Lethbridge and Regina through BC to Vancouver and the entirety of Vancouver Island. Again, eventually, the NTF found many cities in Western Canada empty, as well as almost all of Alberta. The CF then made Vancouver Island a stronghold. like with Nova Scotia.

The two convoys both sailed down the Atlantic and Pacific. The Western convoy went to Australia, were the civilians were allowed asylum. The CF, however, continued sailing for the Atlantic, where they received word that the Eastern convoy had been allowed into Hungary. All the Canadian civilians were asked to go to Australia while the CF and the Hungarian Military got ready to attack the NTF and recapture Canada.

The Eastern convoy had a more interesting story. After sailing across the Atlantic, they came to the French coastline. At first, the French thought that they were under attack, until the saw the Canadian flags, of course. Before that, however, one young Frenchman actually went back to his house, got an old, antique Winchester rifle, ran back to where the ships were spotted, and held his weapon there, in a classic army style, so as to look menacing to these apparent invaders.

When the Canadians landed, the French helped them to get to Hungary, but first they had to figure out what to do with their ships. The Navy decided to stay there, radio the other convoy, meet up and then sail back to Halifax after the personnel that were going to Hungary got off. They were allowed to do so, and a group of fiery Frenchmen actually requested that they be allowed to help fight the NTF, or as one Frenchman said: "Those dirty assholes, who can't fight fairly even if their lives depended one it, which it does!". The CF decided to let them join, only to find that it sparked patriotic fever among the French, who felt it was their duty to help their old ally. However, the CF told them that they couldn't take all of them, only that one group (of about 25 or so). They did not want to deprive France of it's own people. This they could understand.

As the CF traveled through Europe to Hungary, they ended up also picking up another group of about 50 Austrian youths who also wanted to help, and a group of 15 German doctors and nurses, who's ancestors had helped wounded Canadians back in the War on Terror.

After arriving in Hungary, the Canadian Forces began to build up their military, and even continued their spacecraft research. Having called back the spacefleet, they were happy to find that not one of them had joined the NTF, and that none of them had been damaged. They even had all of their fighters with them. Spaceports were set up, ships were built, people were drafted, and even some mercenaries were hired. This went of for 3 straight years as the CF, Hungarian Military and the FPCB (Freedom for Peaceful Canada Battalion, the people from other countries that joined up to help destroy the NTF), as well as the various merc forces, prepared to strike.

Just last year, the CF sent out a commando team to find out the NTFs weaknesses, and it was then that they found out the NTFs true purpose. A team of 3 Special Ops personnel stumbled upon a factory type building, only it wasn't a factory. When they looked inside they saw, to their horror, a giant, blood-filled room where Mobians and Lylatians were being murdered, tortured, burned alive, killed slowly with poison gas in large numbers in closed chambers, their bodies then being incinerated or shot out through a tube into mass graves, or just outside were they slowly rotted. They had taken a book out of two of the most notorious regimes ever: The Nazi government of World War II and the Russian AVO of the Cold War era.

As well, files were discovered that proved this, along with a video tape of the entire thing, which will not be shown in this file due to it being too gruesome for the public eye.

With that, the CF, Hungarians and the FPCB were more determined than ever to destroy the NTF. With their forces now ready, it is time for them to strike at the NTF, and destroy them once and for all!

Forces

CO's

Major General James Madison: Major General James Madison is the head of Joint Task Force 2, and it shows. A master of lockpicking, stealth, and pulling a Rambo, James Madison constantly leads his troops into battle. He despises anyone that refers to his men as "Commando's", and anyone that points out his name is the same as that of the US President that started the War of 1812. He is also a bit of a Canadian military history buff, and shows it with his guns: Two C79-equipped C9 machine-guns, old Squad Automatic Weapons that were taken out of service in 2020.

Captain James Callahan (no sprites yet): An elite sniper in the Canadian Forces. James uses the same C14 sniper rifle as other CF snipers, but his is modified with a silencer and a bayonet. He also utilizes a P90 as a sidearm.

Land:

Infantry:

The infantry. The backbone of every army, and the CF is no exception. The CF's infantry is strong, fast, reliable and can swarm an area quickly. They're trained in every kind of tactic, but are mostly trained in the head-on fighting styles. They use 3 different weapons:

C7A4 Assault Rifle-Fires 5.56x10mm NATO rounds, the C7 is able to fire both single shot semi-auto and fully automatic. The C7 comes equipped with a bayonet for melee combat, and a C79 scope to improve accuracy.

C63 Anti-Vehicle Rifle-This rifle fires a small, but powerful, explosive rocket, and can pierce the armour of even the strongest tanks.

SIG P226 Pistol-A 9x19mm Parabellum pistol, this weapon serves as the standard side-arm of CF infantry. Unable to pierce modern body armour, but still a useful emergency weapon.

Officers:

The officers of the CF are trained to be great leaders, and are not afraid to go into battle with there troops. Many have died courageously leading an infantry charge. Officers use 3 different weapons:

Browning Hi-Power Pistol-An old but rugged design, the Browning Hi-Power was originally a 9mm pistol. However, recent upgrades have allowed it to fire smaller 5.56x10mm NATO rounds, giving it the punch needed to pierce body armour.

C63 Anti-Vehicle Pistol-The Pistol variant of the C63. Fires the exact same rounds. Used by officers leading anti-tank companies.

C7A4-Occasionally, officers will use the C7A4 rifle. Officers can opt to use it before going into battle, but more often than not pick it up if one of their men falls. Officers continually practice with the rifle, just in case.

JTF-2:

Joint Task Force 2, or JTF-2, is the primary Special Operations force of the CF, on par with the British SAS, JTF-2 does a wide range of operations, from covert paradrops to spying to assassinations to sabotage. There are human and "furry" JTF-2 personnel, but "furry" members have to keep tails and ears tucked in to keep a low profile. JTF-2 utilize 3 weapons:

MP7A2-The MP7 is used by JTF-2 due to its compact size, but powerful 4.6x30mm cartridge. The MP7A2 used by JTF-2 contains an inner sound suppressor that helps to limit the sound.

C22 Pistol-A Canadian made pistol, The C22 is designed specifically for Spec Ops personnel. Equipped with a silencer in the barrel as well as an external silencer, firing the gun gives off no sound. The C22 also permanently mounts a Laser Aiming Module (LAM) that assists in long-range targeting. The C22 fires miniature 5.56x10mm NATO rounds, with a magazine capacity of 25.

Combat Knife-A simple combat knife, used for melee attacks, silent kills, and path clearing.

Hazmat:

The Hazmat (stands for Hazardous Materials) units of the CF are trained professionals, able to handle all kinds of chemicals and other hazardous materials safely. Although they do carry a P226 sidearm, they are safer outside of combat.

Geonaut:

Geonauts are exclusive to the Canadian Forces. Taking the lessons learned from Vimy Ridge, CF engineers created the Geonaut branch, a branch of the CF that drills tunnels and does things underground. Geonauts utilize a specially modified variant of the "Muskeg" APC that mounts a heat drill. Geonauts themselves are armed with a C23 SMG, and also carry a neon-gas cutting laser that can also act as a defensive weapon, although it takes the entire charge of the cutting laser to kill a person.

Sniper (note, they are still under construction):

Canadian Forces snipers are the best in the world, able to score a headshot from 5km away. CF snipers utilize the Canadian made C14 "Timberwolf" sniper rifle, and carry no other weaponry with them. Sniper teams are made up of two people: The sniper and the spotter. The job of the spotter is to watch for civilians, and watch for any hostiles coming up on their position. The C14 itself uses the semi-armour piercing .338 Lapua Magnum round, and has a magazine capacity of 5 rounds.

Vehicles:

"Muskeg" APC:

The single-person Muskeg APC is a feat in technology for the CF. Although it carries no weapons, it has near-impenetrable armour, allowed it to be used as a moving wall and as a barricade. The main point of weakness is the treads. Has a Geonaut variant that mounts a heat drill.

"Moose" Light Tank:

The primary tank of the CF, the Moose is fast and agile. Using the Muskeg frame, the Moose mounts a small turret that fires the same projectile as the C63, and can be operated easily by one person. Although the Muskeg frame is the same as that of the APC, the turret itself is a weak point.

"Leopard II" Heavy Tank:

This highly modified Leopard II is being fazed out of use. Although powerful, the Leopard II is no longer needed, and is very outdated. Mounts 4 semi-armour piercing machine guns across the hull, and one cannon.

Artillery:

C888 Howitzer:

This artillery piece is a powerful weapon in the CF. The only artillery gun, it is capable of close-range support, long-range support, and anti-air, and can level an entire city block in one shot. Due to the power of the guns, however, they come in limited supply.

Air:

Pilots:

Canadian Forces pilots will stop at nothing to complete their goals. Able to pull combat maneuvers faster than most people will say is safe and being very accurate with the weapons on their aircraft, they are formidable fighters. On the ground, they will continue fighting, using a powerful upgraded MP5N SMG that can pierce body armour.

CF-18 "Hornet" Fighter:

The primary fighter of the Canadian Forces. The CF-18 Hornet is a tried-and-true fighter. Mounting two vulcans, two "Sandstorm" missiles, and four "Harper" missiles. Sandstorm missiles are for anti-fighter use, and the Harper missiles are primarily for anti-ground use, and are thus larger and more destructive than the Sandstorms. However, Harper's can be used for anti-air combat, and are especially useful against heavily-armoured targets.

CH-1G Cobra:

The attack helicopter of the Canadian Forces, the Cobra is a descendant of the old AH-1 line. Utilizing an armour-piercing chaingun and two four-tube missile launchers. The missiles can be fired all at once or one at a time in rapid succession. The Cobra is able to fight both air and ground targets, although the missiles do not lock. A powerful close-support air unit for infantry.

B-8B:

The bomber of the Canadian Forces, the Bombardier-Canadair B-8B is is a strong plane with a crew of 8: Pilot, Co-Pilot, Navigator, Countermeasures, 2 Bombardiers, and two in-flight repairmen. The B-8B is used for some paradrops, and also uses the following ordinance:

Flare-A non-damaging, air-dropped flare. Gives off a red flare to distinguish from other flares, as well as a unique radar signal. Used to mark targets in advance for bombing runs, paradrops, artillery, and Cobra attack. 150 per bay.

Conventional-A normal bomb with no special qualities. Used for normal carpet-bombing. Max load-out is 25 per bay.

Armour Piercing-Pierces armour before exploding, maximum load-out is 15 per bay.

High Explosive-Creates a huge explosion, easily leveling even hardened bunkers. Max load-out is 10 per bay.

Timed-This bomb runs on a timer. When it hits the ground, the rear end will spin for a set amount of time, before suddenly stopping and exploding. Can help to prevent civilian casualties by forcing civilians away from the target, though just as often it creates more by attracting a large crowd. Max load-out is 12 per bay.

Depth Charge-Dropped into waters around submarines. Goes to a certain depth before exploding. Max load-out is 15 per bay.

Incendiary-Sets fire to everything within the blast radius after exploding. Can easily cause firestorms. Max load-out is 12 per bay.

BioChemical-A bomb that can be armed with a wide range of biological and/or chemical ordinance. Usually only deployed in areas that are not greatly populated. One step above nuclear bombs, and thus limited to threats that cannot be fought through conventional means. Max load-out is 4 per bay.

EMP-Specially designed EMP bombs. Cause minor damage but disable all electronics within the blast radius. Dropped from a high altitude so that the bomber and any allied forces have time to retreat. Max load-out is 2 per bay.

Nuke-The last resort weapon. Used only in the case of MAD, most nukes are kept in storage far underground. Explosive power is 250,000x that of Hiroshima. Max load-out is 1 per bay.

CF-105 Avro Arrow:

Also called the "Phoenix" by some history buffs, the Avro Arrow actually began in 1953. It was designed as an interceptor, and would have revolutionized fighter designs. However, it was canceled in 1959. During the Canadian Exile in Hungary, an engineer dug up the old blueprints, and realized that this old design could be modernized. His proposal was approved, and the Arrow was born again. New materials were used to make it even faster and stronger, and it was given new weaponry: A new missile design that somehow folded up into a miniature cylinder, but when released from the missile bay unfolded into a large, fast, and highly destructive missile. The missile, designated C-255 "StarViper", could lock-on, and target both air and ground. The compact size allows over 100 of them to be loaded into one missile rack. There are two missile bays, with two missile racks each, and can easily be fired in rapid succession. This, along with the Arrow's history, has led it to be named "Phoenix" by historians, a deadly fighter coming out of the ashes...

Sea:

Frogmen:

Divers of the Canadian Forces, Frogmen are used to clear underwater obstacles and recover Unexploded eXplosive Ordinance (UXO) from underwater areas. Although not meant to see combat, Frogmen are armed with the C-27 harpoon gun that fires explosive-tipped harpoons.

Ships:

The ships of the Canadian Forces. Although limited to Cruisers and Destroyers, the Canadian Forces are still powerful at sea. Fredericton-Class Cruisers are patrol ships armed with a single bow turret that can pierce battleship armour, a single-tube anti-ship missile launcher on top of the bridge, and three rear-facing CIWS turrets. The Fredericton also carries two unarmed boats for evacuation, transport, and raiding. The Montréal-Class Destroyer is more heavily armed, carrying two turrets (one bow one starboard), and an anti-missile laser dome on top of the bridge. The main long-range firepower of the Montréal comes from its twin four-tube anti-ship/anti-air missile launchers. These long-range launchers can easily sink a battleship or a bomber. Or both. A legend among the fleet is, during a simulated battle, a missile from a Montréal-Class was locked onto a bomber instead of a carrier. The missile blew off the bomber's tail, sending it crashing... Into the carrier. The carrier was sunk by the plane crashing into the side of the ship, blowing a hole below the waterline and causing a fire that ignited a fuel dump.

SH-3 Sea King:

The infamous Sea King is known for crashing, and no longer exists anywhere in the world but here, with the Canadian Forces. Highly modified Sea Kings are still used by the CF for naval transport, Search and Rescue operations, and patrol. Although unarmed, these upgraded Sea Kings now sport heavy armour. The Sea King can carry up to 12 civilians, and up to 8 Infantry.

Space:

"Jubilee"-Class Battleship (AKA "Hindenburg-Class Airship):

The one ship class of the Canadian Forces Space Fleet. The Jubilee is derogatorily named the Hindenburg-Class Airship because of weak armour (thus "Going up like the Hindenburg") and weak weaponry, making it more useful in the lower atmosphere than up in orbit (hence "Airship"). The primary weapon of the Jubilee is 8 quad-barrel machine guns that shred missiles and fighters, but are useless against ship hulls. The other weapon is the Mass Accelerator Cannon, a weapon that can pierce the hulls of other ships, but is very slow on the reload. There are 13 in service in the Fleet, with another two being constructed. There are two variants:

City Ship-This one contains no weapons and very little armour, instead filling it's space with living areas. Five of these were built, and sent off to explore the galaxy with a full compliment of CF personnel, scientists, engineers, and civilians. They have not been heard from since, officially.

Project Hudson -A possible ship, rumours of a new, stronger Jubilee ship began 25 years ago. However, no information has been found regarding it, besides a name: Project Hudson.

"Zig" Remote Operated Interceptor:

The ROI, or "Zig" as it is commonly called, is a small interceptor launched from the Jubilee. Carrying two high-power chainguns, the Zig can take on fighters and capital ships alike. Each Jubilee packs eight ROI's.

CF-18S Space Hornet:

The CF-18S Space Hornet is actually not identical to the CF-18 on the ground. A speedy fighter, the Space Hornet carries two laser weapons, the first vessel to mount any useful laser weaponry. 1,000 in service, all of which are stationed on the Dreadnought.

HMCS Dreadnought:

The flagship of the space fleet, the Dreadnought is an experimental vessel. It is almost as fast as the very fighters it carries, and has a very strong hull. The true power of the Dreadnought, however, comes from the experimental CG-1 "Wasteland" laser cannon. This enormous cannon vapourizes anything it hits in one shot. However, it gives off massive amounts of heat, needing a giant heat-expulsion system to prevent it from overheating and exploding. As such, it hangs underneath the Dreadnought, leaving it exposed to fire.

CH-69 "Rose"-Class Dropship:

The Rose-Class Dropship is technically a space craft, having been developed for the space fleet. However, it primarily sees use on Earth, being used as a transport vessel, especially for JTF-2. The Rose has near-impenetrable armour, having only two weak points: The engines. A shot into the engines will cause the Rose-Class to disintegrate. The Rose uses a single high-power, rapid-shot laser cannon in the nose for defense, and can hold its own in combat. The Rose also has an enormous cargo bay, able to hold the following:

900,000 JTF-2

900,000 Infantry, Officers, and Snipers

100,000 Muskeg

90,000 Raiders

10,000 Geonaut Muskeg's and 90,000 Geonauts

9,000 Moose

2,000,000 Civilians

Raiders:

Space soldiers, Raiders act as both security and as, well, raiders. They are often utilized as boarding parties to raid and capture or destroy enemy vessels. Raiders are equipped with highly power C6A6 machine guns, distant descendants of the old C6 machine guns. They wear heavy armour that is immune to standard small arms. If they take enough damage from higher-calibre weaponry, however, the power plant may be ruptured and explode, killing them.

Liberty Station:

A space station put in orbit above Canada, Liberty is more of a weapons platform. With 8 laser beam points that can instantly vapourize anything that comes in range and near-impenetrable armour over the whole station, Liberty took years to complete and trillions of dollars. The ultimate weapon of Liberty, called the "Exterminator", is a giant laser cannon, more powerful than the CG-1. The Exterminator is limited by the need for an external power source, and a long charge-up time. As well, once fired, most of the power is drained from the station, leaving it a sitting duck. The Exterminator, due to its power, is also illegal to use.
