After the last season died off, people wanted something fresh, and so an old member named Kalash stepped in with an idea to try something new, and out of this, a new season of the west was born. It is also known as the OFFICIAL FIFTH SEASON OF SPRITE WARS.

Background

Welcome to SPRITE WARS SEASON V (that’s 5 for those of you who don’t know roman numerals), This is where we will start, from this post on, the campaign is officially on.

___________________ I'll present it like this: -Story -Objectives -Rules ___________________

A few months ago, rumours began to spread among our worlds leaders and most influential beings. Rumours of something that could potentially be vital to your cause/country. They started to flow after unusual atmospheric readings, temperature readings, and some strange occurrences with the weather, and most disturbing, strange energy levels being detected around this little spec in the middle of the ocean. Rumours consisted of everything from a possible alien wealth of technology buried some where on the island to a Great War era revolutionary weapons system, little does anyone know that it's much more deep and darker then any theory imagined. This mysterious object soon became known as "The Artifact". What led people further into the mystery was the fact that, for some time, ruins and such things have been being excavated, that seemed to be of an unknown origin, yet strangely familiar in design and architecture.

Surely enough, paranoia set in, "What if it is what they say?" "what if we don’t get it first?". And of course just plain old curiosity. Sensors and aerial sweeps with special equipment certainly said there was something there, but an exact location could not be traced, all the signals, while there, were all too faint to pin point a location. It appeared that the only way to detect the exact location of the signal was to be somewhere directly in it's vicinity. The faint signal most likely indicated that it was under the ground, or shrouded in some way. Somehow without much knowledge of what it was, everyone found it eerily important to find it. Soon nations around the planet, for their own beliefs and reasons, began to gear up their militaries and get ready to claim this "artifact" as their own.

The year is MM__ __, With just days until most companies, countries, nations, militaries, groups, and armies reach the shores of withered little Bivalve, what ever lurks on the island is still uncertain, yet extremely dire to your cause, what ever it may be. Maybe your here for the artifact, maybe your just out to kill, maybe you want to prove everyone wrong, maybe your just looking for a new home...

OBJECTIVES!: -Reach Bivalve alive -Set up a forward command post on the island(you'll need your own generators, because the island is effectively "dead") -Stand your ground, you'll surely be attacked. -Begin your search for the "Artifact" -Let the story build it self up from what I have provided, you don’t HAVE to be here to find the artifact

RULES!: Same rules apply from previous seasons- EDITED 8/28/07 BY KALASH69

"Alright, from the best that I can remember, I now give you the rules. They may have changed since last we met.

Please note, the Two Posts a day rule still applies, and you still get to post one bonus comic on the weekend. Eh, you gents are alright. Three comics a day is the house limit. Don't abuse it too much, or I'll have to cut you guys back. ~Storm

1. No God Modding. This includes all of the following: Character control, Permanently Invincible characters (Note that immortal and invincible are different), super weapons, or any other act that I myself and the members dispute as a god-mod. Confirmed god-modding comics will be deleted

2. You may only play one side in combat. This is self explanatory. You are also limited to one faction. If you had more than one faction in the first Sprite Wars, you have two options. A) Dump one of your factions. Or B] Combine the two into one singular faction.

3. Special Weapon Use: ~~Special Weapons (Smaller, mounted on tanks or smaller weapons platforms): a. Super Cannons (Shells, railguns, etc) take 2 comics to build, and take 1 comic to arm and fire (So you can fire every other comic) b. Beam Weapons take 3 comics to build, and 2 to arm and fire. c. Tactical Missiles (EMP, Aerial Burst, heavy damage, non-nuke/bio/chem) take 2 comics to build and 3 to charge and fire d. Giant Bombs (MOAB, EMP, non-nuclear) Take 2 comics to build, and 1 to drop. NOTE: Special Weapons can be fired without limits, so be sure to protect your special weapon. I would suggest equipping it with smaller suppression weapons which can be used without limit so you can keep enemies at bay while you use the weapon.

Special weapons have been slightly altered. Each special weapon now takes one turn to charge and fire. That means a special weapon may be fired every other comic you make.

ADDITIONAL RULES: 4. Special Powers (Control of elements, magic, Chaos power, etc) must only be used at the person-to-person level. They're between the equivalents of a gun and a missile, so don't expect to take on giant battleships and stuff single-handedly. I only allow your COs and Main Characters to have special powers.

5. "Once you start a army in the season of SW you CAN only change it once. after that you cannot change until the end of the season.. PERIOD"

AMENDED/NEW RULES: -YOU do not pick when the artifact is found, the mods will pick an army at random to find it, when the time is right, there is no way to secure you will get it, it will be a random pick. -You have to comply with any situation issued by the mods via a comic (ie-a weather event, terrain problem, accident) -No super weapons, only special weapons (bombs no bigger then 500 LBS, anything no mentioned can be inquired about via pm to me, storm, etc...). -No space armadas, if you come with ship(s) you either have to ditch, or have something happen to it so you can't use it in battle or anything. -Keep unit spam to a minimum. it's not intimidating, its annoying. -No fighting out of boundaries (the island, and surrounding water/air space). -At the beginning or end of each comic you must show and say your position on the map (just like OP:UM, and periodically Glitch has volunteered to post an updated map with everyones positions) -Standard rules apply. -Don't just battle, formulate a story of your own. -Play Fare (and most important) -Have Fun guys, no flame wars please.

Note:Rules added are due to the playing area, not to restrict fun.
