Mad Jackal PMC's started out as a smallish Private Military Contractor group that gradually began to grow in size, earning cash from small-time contracts that most mercenaries would scorn at; in need of cash, they undertook a few peacekeeping missions with the U.N, and were indirectly involved with the wars against the Rebellion and the Martians before a truce was declared between the U.N and the Rebels, and later skirmished with the Ptolemaic Army before their mysterious dissappearance. Using a combination of scavenged tech and donations from forces they had helped, the PMC's ranks grew, and within a few years (roughly) they had established themselves as one of the major players in the PMC business. There are also unconfirmed rumours that they have been involved in shady weapons dealings with the Russians, which explains, to an extent, their nuclear program. Sergeant Dave Harding: A cheerful ex-Australian SASR Trooper, Sergeant Harding inspires confidence in his men and his easygoing, laid-back manner increases the morale of the soldiers who fight alongside him. Armed with a Russian KS-23 "Special Carbine" Riot Gun and a Smith and Wesson Model 29 Combat Magnum, Harding is a fearsome close-quarter combatant, and prefers highly dangerous home-made Molotov Cocktails to conventional Frag Grenades. He and Prime are good friends, and even served in the Gulf War together. | Sergeant Dave Harding: A cheerful ex-Australian SASR Trooper, Sergeant Harding inspires confidence in his men and his easygoing, laid-back manner increases the morale of the soldiers who fight alongside him. All Mad Jackal PMC basic infantry are issued a kevlar helmet, flak jacket, black BDU's, balaclava and gloves as standard, and Officers wear a black beret to distinguish themselves from lower ranks. However, their are variations depending on what branch of Mad Jackal PMC's they are operating with (Different helmets may be observed for Naval Personnel, Pilots and Mech Crews). Space Marines and Tech-Ops wear specially insulated suits that regulate body temperature and have an oxygen supply that may last up to a month before it needs re-fuelling, and the suit has a nifty trick in that it can re-route auxillary power into its fist and deliver and electrically-charged punch as a last-ditch melee attack. | All Mad Jackal PMC basic infantry are issued a kevlar helmet, flak jacket, black BDU's, balaclava and gloves as standard, and Officers wear a black beret to distinguish themselves from lower ranks. Like the French Foreign Leigon, the Mad Jackal PMC armoury at their command centre is chock-full of weapons from conflicts and armed forces the world over, both official and paramilitary. Their standard-issue rifle is the XM8 Tactical, with the Carl Gustav Rocket Launcher as their primary anti-tank weapon. The M249 SAW acts as their GPMG (general-purpose machinegun) and their sniping weapon of choice is the M40 Iron Brigade Armoury Series .50 Cal Sniper Rifle. Flamethrowers are sometimes utilized for heavier targets, and their personnel seem, oddly, to prefer the Machete over conventional combat knives. The standard-issue sidearm is the IMI Tactical Desert Eagle, and while many look upon this large, heavy pistol with scorn, the PMC's seem to prefer the .50 Cal handgun to smaller calibers like 9mm and 0.45 ACP preferred by other armies. The G36C Assault Rifle is issued to Special Forces troops, and the SOCOM USP is the standard sidearm for Naval Personnel while the FN P90 acts as the personal defence weapon for Pilots, Mech Crews, HALO Para-troopers and Technicians alike. It is also issued to Space Marines as its low recoil means bracing against a hard surface to prevent being sent flying in zero-gravity is unnecessary. Officers are issued the G36 Assault Rifle and the Smith and Wesson Model 29 revolver. | Like the French Foreign Leigon, the Mad Jackal PMC armoury at their command centre is chock-full of weapons from conflicts and armed forces the world over, both official and paramilitary. History
Notable Characters (CO's and Heroes)
Prime - Before the second season of the Grand Campaign, Mad Jackal PMC's contacted the British Special Air Service and requested an NCO be sent to them to train their own Special Forces and infantry. The Regiment accepted, and Prime was sent to the PMC's with the intention of training their personnel. Unfortunately, he found himself dragged reluctantly into the conflicts that the PMC's later took up, but over time he gained a grudging respect for the bravery and quick thinking of the men under his command. Prime grew up in London's East End, and his experience on the streets coupled with his Regiment training means he excels at close-quarter fighting. He doesn't give a toss about the UN's jurisdiction, and was nearly kicked out of the Regiment numerous times for breaching the rules of engagement to save innocent lives, and those of his men. Comfortable with any weapon from a Kalashnikov to an Armex C3 Assault Rifle, Prime is a self-taught weapons specialist, and running out of ammo is no problem to him whatsoever, as he keeps an array of lethal throwing knives about his person and can often be seen taking weapons of the dead bodies of his enemies.
Uniform and Battle-Dress
Weapons, Equipment and Technology
Mad Jackal PMC's tech level is classed as "Advanced Modern", meaning while not as advanced as, for example, the FSA or Firefox's technology, they are still fairly well kitted out, with about the same level of tech as the USMF. Their equipment has recently had an overhaul, and their new kit is far more impressive than the dated weapons and armour they were previously using.
Officers are issued the G36 Assault Rifle and the Smith and Wesson Model 29 revolver.
Conflicts
Mad Jackal PMC's have been involved in many conflicts over the years, including but not limited to:
The African Civil War, both Gulf Wars, Sri Lankan Civil War, Lebanon, Darfur Conflict, Afghanistan, the Somalian Civil War, the Falklands War, the Kosovo Civil War, and the second season of The Grand Campaign. They are due to appear in the next season of the Grand Campaign (Season III), and also in the Western Campaign sometime soon.
