The Strike Witch Program

A program in the Liberators Army[1] classified above Top Secret. The program was formed by General Matthew once Captain Briano and 1st Lieutenant Vivian made contact with a young girl who possessed the ability to wield Magic, and possessed rare magical tech. The main reasons that the Liberators Launched this program was to Study and Apply magic, find ways to apply it for military interests as well as to provide magically adapt children sanctuary and training. But most of all was to prevent the knowledge of Striker Units being made public knowledge in the world.

The young girls in the unit are known as the 907th Strike Witch Squadron.

Magic

The Liberators Know very little about magic, and thus, began researching all sorts of magic once the program was underway. Every spell is researched and archived. Magic trials are also conducted to use the spell in question. Their are eight magical elements: Wind, Lightning, Light, Ice, Dark, Fire, Water and Sand.

Striker Units

The Striker Units are strange pieces of armor that not only run on a Mages magic, but boosts the power of a Mages magic and spell casting, all thanks to a special magic engine that was constructed by unknown means. Their are three Types of Striker Unis: Land, Sea and Air. And each of these three types of Striker Units have different properties and functions. When wearing a Striker a Mages power is vastly increased by the magic engine in the unit, resulting in the constant manifestation of her animal ears and tail, the ability to raise defensive shields at will without need of incantation of a spell and increased physical abilities. Air Strikers grant Mages the powers of high speed flight. Land Strikers are highly flexible compared to the Air Striker, and would grant a user high speed running, jumping, endurance and hypothetically provide devastating kicking attacks, aside from increased physical abilities, and the ability to raise defensive shields without need of a spell. Sea Strikers are assumed to provide immaculate swimming speeds in any sort of aquatic environment, also applying magic so the wearer can survive the harsh aquatic environments, and possibly even breath underwater for a certain amount of time. Strikers require high magical aptitude and without such aptitude, the unit cannot be used effectively.

List of Strike Witch Personnel

Maria Rowena Angelique Found by Briano and Vivian when the Liberators were at war with the Armex, Maria is a 13 year old girl who desperately wanted to follow in her slain family's footsteps and use her power to help those in need, and fight evil. While initially turned down, after much of the top brasses deliberation, they decided to accept her within the Ranks of the Liberators, and is responsibule for having the Liberators Launch the Strike Witch Program, and most of the Armys current first hand knowledge came from her. Maria is of both British and French descent, switching between a British and French accent from time to time. She is energetic, willing to please and a fast study, but she is deeply troubled since the death of the surviving members of her family. Because of this, Briano and Vivian adopted her. Maria has a rudimentary knowledge of a few high level spells, but she is quite talented with beginners level spells and adapt at a few spells in combat magic, mostly in the Element of Air. But most of her knowledge in Magic is simply theory so while she has been chosen to teach other potential Strike Witches, she is still learning herself. Her military codename is "Angel", and holds the rank of Technical Sargent. Her Air Striker is modeled after the British Spitfire fighter plane from WW2.

Rachel Elizabeth MacTavish An angry, confrontational and violent 16 year old American girl, but possesses a soft side that is buried deep inside herself. The reason for her volatile attitude is because she was raped at a very young age. She likes to fight, and she dose so ruthlessly. While she secretly cares about the well being of others, she puts up a front of detachment and independence. Rachel was discovered when she shot down a Liberator Pelican with Briano, Vivian and a squad of Liberator Soldiers inside that was being escorted by Maria. At first nobody knew anybody's intent and Maria and Rachel then fought each other in both ranged Conventional and Ranged Magical combat. Its not until they both got close to each other in a melee that ended in a stalemate that they both stopped fighting and started opening communications with each other. Rachel believed that Maria and the Liberators were bad guys intent on harming the local population of orphaned children in her care, but Maria assured her intentions to the contrary. Maria and Rachel then exchanged Magic weapons as a gesture of friendship, Maria giving Rachel her Bazooka, and Rachel giving Maria a Magically enhanced Boys Mark 1 Anti-tank rifle. She was then offered sanctuary at Liberators HQ. She accepted, but only on the condition that the Orphans in her care could accompany her and found foster family's. Her code name is "Viper" and she holds the rank of Sergeant Major. Her Land Striker is Modeled after the American Sherman Tank from WW2. Its also rumored that both she and Maria made a pactio of some sort, but these are unconfirmed.

Annora Baldhart Von Krone Annora is a 14 year old German Girl who Grew up in FSA controlled Berlin, Germany. She is a bright young girl and very determined, but not very focused, and sometimes even forgetful. Her parents fled with her from their former homeland to find someplace safe. Their journey lead them to Liberators territory and they began living within the borders. But one day their heard rumors of a secret program that the Liberators started and Annora's parents thought that the Liberators could help their daughter. While most personnel denied the knowledge or existence of any such secret program, after days of digging and persuasion, Liberator CO's finally allowed the Vone Krone's through the doors, provided they sign a nondisclosure form. From their Annora went through her training. Her code name is "Valkyrie". She holds the rank of Fachmann-zweite Klasse (E-5) (or Specialist Second Class (E-5) and in charge of communications and intelligence. Sometimes she can forget coordinates, or remembering particular military jargon and even the time in hundred hours Zulu time, getting her and the other Strike Witches in all sorts of trouble. Her Striker Unit is modeled after the German Panzer Tank from WW2. Part of her Striker's Equipment includes a backpack radio that not only allows the boost of magical telepathy by another 1000 miles, but it serves to jam both enemy telepathy as well as jamming conventional communications technology. With it she can also create an EMP burst, provide a magical form of night vision for herself and her Allies and can create a magical hologram of the battlefield to provide Intel on the environment, status on allied and enemy forces, changes in weather patterns, and for detecting sources of magic.

Akemi Hotaru Kokoro Prefers being called "Hotaru" and is about 13 years old. Her birthplace is Tokyo Japan. Hotaru is a very intelligent girl and often reads and likes to quote profound pieces of literature and history books, being a book worm of sorts. She often seems distant and withdrawn however, which makes people very curious. She found her way into the Liberators compound in Marutus when she left the slums of Tokyo on a trip to find herself, spending the next two months living out in nature and honing her magic using skills. Annora back in Marutus detected Hotaru's magical energy and reported to Liberators CO's. As a result, a team of Marines were sent to find the magic user and make peaceful contact. The first five minutes of contact were a bit tense, but after hearing the Liberators proposal and the existence of the Strike Witch Program, Hotaru believed this was her chance at a new life, one of meaning and purpose. She took the Liberators up on their offer and became a Corporal. Her code name is "Firefly". Her land Striker is modeled after the Japanese Type 4 Ke-Nu Tank from WW2.

Derica Carolina Earnestine Derica is a 17 year old German girl hailing from Liepzig Germany. She lost her mother and father when they were both tried as enemy's of the state and executed by the FSA. She took vengeance upon the FSA, attacking their garrisons and patrols before bidding a hasty retreat due to the FSA's massive number of high technology firepower. Feeling she failed miserably, and for some reason, finding difficulty in using her magic, began longing for death in the heat of battle. She would wander the world, fighting in combat with the hopes she would die by fire, but she survived her encounters with those she fought. She finally flew over Liberator Airspace one day and was intercepted by Liberator aircraft. Believing she was being attacked, and their fore believing her chance to die would come, she attacked the aircraft, downing them. The pilots barley escaped with their lives, and requested assistance. It came in the form of a few strike Witches. Derica was surprised by the appearance of girls like her, but that didn't stop her from fighting. But the Liberators didn't grant her wish for death. During the fight, she was incapacitated, and brought to the infirmary, and it was their that she was made the offer to join the Strike Witch Program. She accepted, becoming a 2nd Lieutenant. But unlike the other Strike witches, she joined so that she can finally die in battle. Derica's code name is "Iron Eagle". Her Striker Unit is modeled after the German ME109 fighter of WW2.Aside from WW2 era German firearms, she also owns a Rapier. Lastly, she managed to keep her desire of a death by fire secret from the Liberators and other Strike Witches, but who knows how long she will keep it as such. Like Rachel, Derica also has an all seeing eye, but unlike Rachel, Derica is unable to control its power at will and its her single right eye, not both. In order to regulate the power of her eye, she wears an eye patch over it to regulate its power.

Vittoria Giacinta Marin A 12 year old Italian girl born in the Italian city of Vittoria, from which she was named. She is friendly, playful and well mannered. Her family were Clan leaders and highly respected and feared ranking members of the Sicilian Mafia, and she was treated as their princess. Her father was the Boss of the "Cosca", and while her father was powerful man, feared by his opposition, within the Cosca, he was beloved and respected, and he treated his Cosca that same as he treated his family: well and with unconditional love. Vittoria was treated with the best her father could give her, and her siblings and mother watched over her with love and affection. Sadly, like many members of every mafia, her family's end was a violent and bloody one; at the end of a Thompson. Rival members of another clan that her father was at odds with for years, finally eliminated him and proceeded to do the same to the family and members of the Cosca. Vittoria was ordered to flee the slaughter by her dying father, and to never look back. She reluctantly obeyed, and fled Sicily. She flew upon her striker aimlessly until she reached Marutus. She went into the intercity zones and found a street with a few Italian family's. Their she played with the local children and was even given a place to stay. But as playful and happy as she seemed, she didn't know what do do in the world. One day, as she played with the other children, she saw a man in a soldiers uniform, carrying a machine gun, enter the Italian community's neighborhood. Afraid for her new playmates, she confronted the man. As it turned out, it was Captain Briano, visiting an Italian family he helped out years ago. And he told her of his Italian heritage, and that he strolls through the Italian district to get back to his roots. Finding out what Vittoria was, he told her of Maria and the Strike Witch Program. Vittoria was unsure, but Briano left the offer open should she finally decide to join. Two days later, she marched up to the Liberators base front gate and was let in by the guards without question. She became an Airmen First Class and her code name is "Outlaw", and has developed a close relation ship with the Strike Witches, and with Derica in particular. Her Striker Unit, modeled after the Reggiane Re.2005 Sagittario from WW2, is designed differently then most Air Striker Units, in that it was designed to be ridden on, not worn on the legs. It also possesses a pair of magic machine guns mounted inside the striker, providing additional firepower.
