Rii’Iia is the leader of the Solarians, a group of microns that experimented on themselves with magic so heavily that they became immortal being of pure energy called the Transcendi. Rii’Iia was first to transcend and is one of the most powerful beings in Micras’s history, but long ago rose above using her abilities to change the course of the world unless the need was most dire.

Rii’Iia was born in the far, far past and in her early life served as a map maker on sea voyages exploring the oceans around the micron continent. Her ship ran aground on rocks surrounding the southwest of an unexplored island and her team stranded there for months until a rescue ship came looking for them. During their stay on the island the Wind Song was found among a number of lesser, non-magical jewels. Rii’Iia was one of those exposed to the power of the mighty jewel.

After she began to manifest strange and uncontrollable magic abilities, Rii and several other survivors of the incident met to compare stories. They began a cult that studied magic and began to write Garla Solarian, a strange language that had a curiously strong grip on magic. Though many joined her, many others began to fear Rii’Iia and the rest of their group.

Rii tried to give magic a good reputation by showing how magic could help people. She healed the wounded, repaired damaged buildings, and created moving (if somewhat abstract) artworks using her magical powers. However the actions of other non-Solarian magic users smeared magic so strongly that most races had fallen into distinct pro- and anti-magic camps but both sides decisively wanted the Solarians to go away. Rii decided this wasn’t her fight, stole the Wind Song from Parsaria, and took most of the Solarians to the western island where the Wind Song had been discovered. There they founded the nation of Solaria with its capital at Solora Spira, (known in later times as the City of the Sun) with Rii’Iia as their leader.

By now Rii was getting rather old, even for a micron. She volunteered for several dangerous magic experiments using the full force of the Wind Song. After a number of very close brushes with death she became the first of the Transcendi; an immortal being with no physical body. In essence, Rii’Iia had become a free spirit within but not bound to the Empathi Field, although the nature of the Empathi Field was completely unknown to even the Solarians at this time. As a Transcendi Rii’Iia no longer aged.

Rii’Iia personally fought in the Great War of Destruction on the side of the good gods. Wielding the awesome Sun Sword, she lead Solaria’s armies to defend the micron mainland and help decimate the ranks of their failed magical race, the Reptites.

During her vigil overseeing the final Solarian transcendence, Rii discovered the existence of Fate and its corruption of the universe. At first Rii is frantic to do something, however with most of the Solarians in stasis and her own duties keeping her at the Solora Spira to oversee the temple, there is little she can do directly. Instead she subtly alters the planar shift spell to allow a specific person to gain access. Rii didn’t know it yet, but that person was Sai'Kar Lum'Eth. That being done, Rii entered stasis herself just before the spell’s completion and Solaria vanished from Micras.

Rii’Iia briefly returned to the Solora Spira to advise advised Sai’Kar during the Eve of Destruction and that later gave her people shelter in the city. By this time she had identified Sai’Kar as someone important to opposing Fate and began to understand the Chrono, knowledge that would serve her well when the Time Distortionists took notice of her and wanted to compare knowledge.

Although Rii worked closely with them, she never joined the Distortionists nor traveled through time. She patiently carried out her duties as the Solarian leader until the Restoration of the Chrono was completed.

With Fate’s destruction, Rii felt her life’s goal had been complete. She decided to keep watch over Micras for as long as the magic that held her soul out of the direct energies of the Empathi Field held though vowed not to personally get involved again. After watching civilization on the planet rise and fall three times and bearing personal witness to near every important event in the planet’s history, no one could argue that Rii’Iia hadn’t earned her rest.
