Wondrous Transmutation Process

6 motes. Crafts 5, Essence 4
Instant/Simple (Speed 5 in long ticks
Combo-Ok, Obvious
Craftsman Needs no Tools

The Lawgiver may impose her own perfection upon ordinary objects, transforming them into something greater. This cannot cause an object to change state or create more material than present, so while a vial of Nexus river-water can become a glass of wine, it cannot become a keg, or a brick of gold.

  • The Solar rolls Charisma + [highest Craft]. She does not need the corresponding elemental Craft to transmute an item, only a strong understanding of how things are made.
  • One success indicates the object has purified and perfected itself—sewage becomes drinking water, ore becomes workable iron, etc. Three successes indicate a more dramatic change: the sewage might become wine, a piece of driftwood might become a refined piece of mahogany. Five successes creates the unbelievable. Raw sewage becomes Seven Bounties Paste or Celestial Wine. Unrefined iron ore suddenly becomes feathersteel. Ten or more successes causes a miracle: sewage may become Skin Like the Mountains Oil, iron ore may become Soulsteel or Starmetal.
  • Using this charm on an already magical item may cause the creation of totally new magical items, at the Storyteller’s discretion—after all, the First Age had countless materials that are lost to today’s knowledge.
  • The Solar has complete control over this process. If she desires to purify water, she does not make Celestial Wine, regardless of successes. Failure means that motes were spent, but achieved nothing. Botches should always result in an amusing—not detrimental—result.
  • This is intended for use on inanimate things. An alternate version that perfects the physiology of living things may exist specifically for Craft (Genesis).

Perfect Destruction

2 motes +, Crafts 5, Essence 3
Instant, Supplemental
Combo-Ok, Touch
Shattering Grasp

As long as the solar has the minimum Str + Athl to break an item, he may spend 2m to shatter it irreparably. The Solar must actually touch the item to break it. If the Solar does not meet the minimum Str/Athl requirement, he may spend 2 motes for every point of Str + Athl he lacks until he has reached the minimum or is out of motes. This does mean that a Strength 2 Twilight could crumble a palace-fortress, provided he was willing to spend the time and the motes.

This is also an Athletics charm requiring Athl 5, Essence 3 and Increasing Strength Exercise.

COMMENTS: FIrst Edition Solar Athletics had a variety of Charms that enhanced a Solar's Str+Ath score for the purposes of lifting and breaking things: they were not ported over to Second Edition because they were basically more specific and more potent versions of the First Athletics Excellency. A character who has the First Athletics Excellency could use it in conjunction with this Charm- either through Athletics Essence Flow or through a Combo- to achieve much the same effect, albeit with a normal dice adder limit. Additionally, this Charm seems to imply that it can break the normal dice adder maximum- in fact it pretty much states that it ignores it altogether- which is generally a bad idea.

Object-Reassembling Touch

15m, 1wp Crafts 5/Essence 3
Instant/Simple
Keywords: Combo-Basic, Touch
Prerequisites: Craft-Mending Technique

Nothing broken was beyond repair for the Solar Exalted. This charm allows the Solar to instantly and perfectly repair a single item to its original state, even if pieces are missing or otherwise irreparably damaged.

COMMENTS: There's a TCS spell that does similar: is it safe to assume that the restrictions that apply to that Spell also apply to this Charm? Otherwise, this Charm would allow a Solar to, say, dismantle a damaged Royal Warstrider into it's component parts and then repeatedly use this Charm to create a number of brand new Royal Warstriders equal to the number of individual parts that were damaged, or similar feats of broken-ness.
