Yes. The transplanted locks are pulled from one region with the body (donor site) and used another (recipient site). The transferred tissue will not be "rejected" as things are not foreign tissue. The transplanted hair maintains it's own characteristics; color, texture, rate of growth, and curl, after transplantation and regrowth. The force from the grafted follicle is maintained because of the rich blood circulation for the scalp. Originally, large circular grafts containing 15-20 hairs were transplanted creating noticeable and unnatural results. Over years, instruments and techniques are already developed that allow us to obtain truly natural results by transplanting small grafts very close together. We have now found that hair grows through the scalp in groups of one, two, and three follicles of hair. We transfer such groups of follicles after eliminating the extra surrounding dimply skin. This will give the grafts to become placed closer together becoming a denser plus more natural result.
Are transplants painful? Well everybody is surprised at how little pain there is during the procedure. Some discomfort is to be expected because the anesthetic is injected in the scalp. After the skin is anesthetized, there is no pain. Should the numbing medicine wears off over the course of the method, more is injected to re-anesthetize the area.
