As some of you may know, there is a leaked copy of an extremely old (pre-2006) version of 97b going around. This is the work of Nautilus, DD_133, and possibly other Unidoom members. They're angry about being banned after being banned after the whole FNF incident (and probably other things), and this is their way at retaliating.

They now hate Skulltag, and want to do whatever they can to see it and its users suffer. If anything, all it's done is show me how much work has been done on Skulltag in the past 8 or so months. The changelog from the leaked version pales in comparison to the current changelog.

Like the title says, I apologize to everyone for the delays. I wanted to have 97b done by now, but well, it isn't. There's excuses for this... no good ones, however. The main one is the release of ZDoom 2.1.0, and its subsequent versions.

Anyway, I suggest you guys stay clear of it. For one, there's no guarantee that it's safe (who knows if a virus was attached or anything). It's also really not worth looking at, and you'll just spoil any potential surprises coming up in 97b. So, you're really better off staying clear of it.

Internally, 2.1.0 is massively different from the version of Zdoom that Skulltag is currently based on, 2.0.63a. Several key modules, such as inventory, have been completely rewritten, and it's taken quite a bit of time to adapt the Skulltag-specific code over to this new system. Doing so has also prompted me to completely rewrite and reorganize some of the internal working of Skulltag's code, making everything far better organized and easier to work with (plus there might be performance improvements, too).

And that's it. Tootles!

On the plus side, these reworks are almost done. If things go well, then hopefully we'll all see 97b release before not too long.

Like the title says, I apologize to everyone for the delays. I wanted to have 97b done by now, but well, it isn't. There's excuses for this... no good ones, however. The main one is the release of ZDoom 2.1.0, and its subsequent versions.

On the plus side, these reworks are almost done. If things go well, then hopefully we'll all see 97b release before not too long.
