Club Vox
Club Vox is located on the edge of the Loop, a hole-in-the-wall nightclub taking up the basement and second floor of a rundown building. Conveniently, the upper-levels are taken up by a hotel that charges largely by either the hour or the week. Getting into Vox is disorienting, requiring the navigation of maze-like line of chain-link fencing, narrow stone stairs and a huge bouncer that everyone calls "Bjorn".
Inside Vox is a well-populated dance floor, and a better-populated bar. The music is usually canned, but live - if extremely obscure - bands are not unheard of. Vox's main function, however, is as a place for Chicago's Occult luminaries to see and be seen, to meet for deals, collect nubile young "apprentices" and expound, at drunken length, their theories on magic, conspiracy, and the supernatural. It's even an occasional occurrence for vampires, werewolves, even the Awakened to be in attendance here, all showing up for their own, inscrutable purposes.
