As you upgrade your lair, it changes the picture on your "View Lair" page. Not every upgrade will change the picture however. Currently there are four types of upgrades: Laser Cannons, Press Connections, Barracks, and Deathtraps.
- Laser Cannons: Activate when someone instigates an attack on you. Only activate once on the first round of combat.
- Basic Laser Cannons (100 Rep.) Do 1-10 damage.
- Advanced Laser Cannons (250 Rep.) Do an additional 1-10 damage.
- Extreme Laser Cannons (500 Rep.) Do an additional 1-10 damage.
- Press Connections: Affects how much reputation you lose if you are defeated. With enough press connections, it is possible to lose a battle and still gain reputation.
- Minor Press Connections (100 Rep.) Negates 1-10 points of reputation loss.
- Many Press Connections (250 Rep.) Negates an additional 1-10 points of reputation loss.
- Outright Bribery (500 Rep.) Negates an additional 1-10 points of reputation loss.
- Barracks: (100 Rep.) Required if you want to hire minions. This opens up the Hire Minions option.
- Deathtraps: Allow additional Reputation gain after defeating an opponent who attacks you in your lair. Somehow, they always manage to escape your deathtrap though.
- Starter Deathtrap (100 Rep.) Adds an additional 1-10 reputation gain.
- Improved Deathtrap (250 Rep.) Adds yet another 1-10 to reputation gain.
- Extravagant Deathtrap (500 Rep.) Adds yet another 1-10 to reputation gain.
