They Sit and Talk

The "Sit and Talk" setting is a popular alternative to the normal fight threads. It is mainly intended to compare the characters' personalities rather than their powersets, and usually consists of two parties of conflicting ideologies or personalities.

The basic idea is that both parties are set down in a room together and are not allowed to harm each other. The intention is that they will sit and talk, and the point of the thread is speculation on what the results of their conversation would be. Creative posters often write out snippets of the imagined conversation for amusement.

A popular choice of participants for the Sit and Talk format is to have both parties be two different versions of the same character. For example, a thread might involve the Animated Teen Titans and the Comic Book Teen Titans.
