This is the first seduction of the film, in which we realize that Kati and Alex are definitely going through with the bet. In this scene, Alex "seduces" Hallie by making a bet with her that if he wins (some game), she'll kiss him. He cheats, and wins, thereby getting his photo.
They are playing chess. Hallie gets up for a moment and Alex switches the position of some of the pieces while she's not looking. When she kisses him, they both start getting somewhat more into it than anticipated. He caps the photo while they have their eyes closed. This is almost unimportant, as the most important aspect of it is that Hallie gets quite disturbed--not only by Alex's behavior, but by her own willingness to betray Dylan.

Hallie knocks at Alex’s door, slowly Greg stands up and walks toward the door, doing a sort of impromptu spin as he approaches, and then opens it.
Hallie stands there awkwardly.
Ah, come in, you’ll find that all the preparations are in place for our game, madame.
HALLIE
I’m glad, I look forward to a good game.
ALEX
Perhaps you’ll have more than that to look forward to...
HALLIE
What do you mean?
ALEX
I mean simply you and I might consider a more intimate sort of play after the event.Alex puts his arm around Hallie.
Hallie jams her elbow into Greg's stomach, Greg releases her, coughing.
Well, (cough) to business, would you like some tea?
HALLIE
No, thank you.They sit down at a carefully prepared chess board.
Hallie moves a pawn.
Ah, fairly typical, I can see what you're thinking already, Livy.
HALLIE
Oh, and what’s that?
ALEX
Well, I couldn’t tell you. Then you'd change your strategy.
HALLIE
At the moment I don’t have a strategy.
ALEX
Oh, I’ll bet you do. In fact, I’d be willing to make a little wager on the outcome of this evening’s game.
HALLIE
Fine, but if I win, you have to stop hitting on me. Believe me, it would be worth more than any amount of money.
ALEX
Ah, so the policy of romantic aggression once again yields a monetary reward. Alright, I’ll forgo my payment as well in trade for something from you.
HALLIE
What’s that, Gregory?
ALEX
One kiss from your ruby red lips.
Alex stands up and walks over to Hallie’s side of the table, and starts to take her hand, Hallie pushes him back, he stumbles.
Sit down, you haven’t won yet. But I accept.
ALEX
Ah, so I look forward to the pleasure you will offer.
HALLIE
Don’t go counting your chickens, you’ll find a few of them have Ascarad Worms.
INT. DAY. House.
(A little while later.)
Another victory for the skilled champion.
HALLIE
You played very well.
ALEX
Yes, and the time has come to collect my reward.Alex walks over, this time Hallie doesn’t force him away.
There’s a pause, and they kiss, briefly, exploratory… and then again for longer, and then again, (Greg eventually snaps a picture) but then Hallie pushes Greg off of her.
Stop it, Greg… stop! I’m leaving,
ALEX
Well, take care, mademoiselle. Liv.Hallie walks out and slams the door behind her.
