Confrontation
From Rom Com
In this scene, Dylan confronts Aimee about Alex. Alex has been attempting (unsuccessfully) to take a cell-phone picture of Aimee. Dylan has just discovered the sinister bet and is trying to explain it to Aimee, who refuses to listen because of her feelings towards Alex.
INT. Apartment building. Day.
Far shot. DYLAN, from behind, at the door of AIMEE's apartment. (Aimee and Kati have adjacent apartments? I'd like to discuss this.)
Close shot. The door opens a crack. We see AIMEE. She looks slightly tired and disheveled. The chain is still in the door throughout the following.
What?
I tried to reach you last night.
Yeah, I wasn't in. (Pause.) What's wrong?
Everything. (Long pause. He looks embarrassed.) Pardon the melodrama.
Do you want some tea? You look like you've been drugged and forced to have a colonoscopy.
Good guess.
I'm an excellent judge of character
She unlatches the door.
Medium tracking shot. They walk into a sort of kitchenette thingy. Aimee makes tea in the microwave. While she is occupied with that, Dylan looks around and sees that Alex is sleeping on the couch, a few feet away. Aimee hands him his tea, perhaps saying something like "Voila", but Dylan has already become quite jumpy.
Can I talk to you--
Go ahead.
--in private?
(exasperated) Oh my god. Is this about Greg?
He's right there.
He's asleep.
Did you...and he...?
We're all adults here, Toby. (Pause.) At least legally.
