Christophe Sassou Ngouabi (b. December 31, 1943) is the current President of the Democratic People's Republic of the Congo, General Secretary of the Congolese Revolutionary Socialist Party, and Marshal of the Congolese People's Armed Forces. He rose to power via a bloodless coup d'état.
