Richie and Ross had a bet that if Richie couldn't pull a female by the closing of the club they were going to be in, then Richie would have to turn gay.

Richie, obviously, failed to attract even a snifter of interest from anything resembling a female.

As a result of this, Richie now categorises himself as a card-carrying homosexual, and frequently "falls over" in front of his male housemates, "accidentally" rubbing his arse into their respective crotches.
