There comes a point in ones life that giving pet names to things starts to fade and the real world reality occupies every thought. However, for our hero, that time was not the present. Bagjani still named many things in his life includog objects that might never be called animate, for instance, a rope. Bagajani had a specail rope, a rope he named dog.
