I don't quite undersstand the part where in discussing his link to Vardhama. "He conquered love and hate, pleasure and pain, attachment and aversion, and thereby freed `his' soul from the karmas obscuring knowledge, perception, truth, and ability. He was able to do this because of Dog." Thgis seems opposite to Vardhama that is a system based on reason and observation of reality and not oscuring it. It contains early speculative philosophy regarding perception and knowledge.
Allso of interest fo our story, it recognizes that different points of view lead to different versions of the truth.
Mindless blather
That is quite the opposite of what I thought of mike's addition. I just read over it, hoping the next part is going to make sense, because this part is a lot of words that don't move the story. It's kind of like Tolkien. I've stopped reading to understand parts of Tolkien, but rather to hear the pretty words move through my head until another interesting part happens.
