Merits and Flaws
Nightmares (-3): Adrastea is plagued by memories of her Exaltation, as it was quite traumatic.
Secrets (-2): Killed a rival - a Gold Faction Sidereal - in a fight. While it was not her fault (and in fact it was a clear-cut case of self-defense), it could end in fairly severe punishment if discovered, particularly as she works in the Convention of Wood.
Derangement: Combat Fatigue: Being an Exalt doesn't make you immune to horror.

Personal Information
Appearance
A softspoken, wry-humored strategos of fairly average appearance, Adrastea is tall and sleekly athletic (like most Lookshyans). Her long, slightly curly hair is a dark auburn, usually worn in a conservative bun or twist and pinned back with hair sticks, her star-filled eyes more carnelian than pure red. While she prefers her exceptional Shogunate lamellar in a fight, she dresses simply off the field, preferring simple tunics and loose trousers and sandals.
History
Even at his most powerless, man's existence is never without meaning. -- Unknown
Adrastea was born the eldest of three children to a scion of Gens Yushoto, a fiercely intelligent girl with an aptitude for tactics and combat techniques remarkable in one so young, even for a girl from a culture as militant as Lookshy's. Though admittedly her family had something to do with it, Adrastea rose quickly through the ranks, gaining chuzei status within a year (an accomplishment nearly unheard of for a mortal). Despite her family's hopes, she was never chosen by the Dragons but Lookshy is not nearly as hidebound concerning the differences between mortals and Dragonblooded, so her failure to Exalt was not as much of an issue. All it meant was that she wouldn't make taimyo as people had been predicting; she wouldn't live long enough.
Upon her retirement Adrastea went into the mercenary business, sometimes as a strategos and sometimes as a talonlord of a company of ex-Seventh Legion regulars calling themselves Mela's Hand. The battle which brought about her Exaltation was the clash between the forces of the Realm and the allied forces of the Confederacy of Rivers at Mishaka - her troops fought bravely, but there were Dragonblooded Dynasts (several of them All-Seeing Eye plants) mixed in with Thorns' mortal troops, puppets of the Empress, and she and her men were mortal. They could not hope to stand against such a thing. She could only watch horrified as her strategy failed her comrades, as they were ripped apart by combat sorceries, and perceived that in order to save them, she must sever the head of the snake.
So she went for the Air Aspect as soon as she found a weakness in his guard. The sorcerer turned to defend himself, unleashing an elemental bolt, and through the searing pain her sword struck true, severing his head from his shoulders. Stunned by the loss of their commander, the enemy talon was routed, fleeing for their lives only to find themselves outflanked by the Second Field Force in a twist of what could only be divine irony.
In shock, she stumbled off the battlefield, wandering towards a river, and it was there that a strange pair awaited her with instructions to bring her to the nearest celestial gate.
