Basic Character Information

Entry Point

The Second Doctor comes from a point after The War Games, in what would be considered Season 6B, after he had been taken by the Time Lords and sent to work for the CIA (Celestial Intervention Agency).

Physical Description

Some might call him a cosmic hobo, others might say he's a dusty Victorian gentleman. The Doctor has shaggy black hair, expressive blue eyes and wears a dusty old Victorian frock coat. He appears to be a middle-aged man, though in truth he's quite young and vibrant. He might seem short and silly, but he can clean up nicely.

Personality

The Doctor is sometimes seen as funny and clownish, but when push comes to shove, he can be quite dark. Generally though, he's generous and good natured, loving and sweet. He's caring and tender when the occasion calls for it, and vibrant and enthuastic when needed.

History

After being drained by the Dalek's time device while trying to rescue Sara Kingdom, the Doctor lost centuries of his life in the blinking of a eye. As a result, when the Cybermen attacked the Earth in 1986, he was unable to resist the damage their rays were doing to him and collapsed, dying, quite literally of old age. He experienced his first regeneration then, and went on to traveling with his companions Ben Jackson and Polly Wright. They were soon joined by the Scottish Highlander Jamie McCrimmon. Later, after Ben and Polly left, he and Jamie rescued Victoria Waterfield from the Daleks, and when she departed, they were joined by Zoe Herriot.

It was with Jamie and Zoe that the Doctor encoutered his Time Lord pursuers after a long time away from them. To help stop the meddling of the War Chief, the Doctor sent to Gallifrey for help. His reward was to have his friends taken from him, and their minds altered, while he himself was forced to repay his debt by becoming an operative of the CIA. Though he did not like the arrangement, he had to admit it was better than being forced to regenerate.
