Basic Character Information

Personality

As a general rule, Wes is a happy go lucky prankster, with the basic mentality of a seven year old. He believes in having as much fun as possible today, because tomorrow might not ever come. Playing practical jokes on his friends and teammates is one of his favorite pastime, as it allows him to take their minds of their darker thoughts and troubles, as well as take his own mind off of them. He also likes to flirt with pretty much everyone, regardless of race or gender, although it's generally of the harmless variety.

As with most people though, he does have a darker, more serious side as well. He is a lethal opponent, being particularly accurate with blaster pistols, starfighter-grade weaponry, and excelling in hand to hand combat. He is full of grim determination when fighting or flying against an enemy, and while he is not necessarily easy to anger, he is quick to get there when provoked. Generally speaking, he's not someone you want to really piss off, because he will kill you.

Background

When it comes to canon information about Wes' life before he joined the rebellion, the only thing known is that he came from Taanab. What this basically means is that I just made up a bunch of stuff to fill in the rather large hole of his family, his childhood and his early adolescence. So, here's a list of a few things that are important to my pup's background for various reasons.

• Taanab's populace is known for always maintaining an air of formality.
• It also has problems with seasonal pirate raids from bandits striking from the planet Norulac.
• His father (Dylin) disappeared during a raid when Wes was seven and was presumed dead, leaving him to be raised by his mother (Layna).
• He has two sisters, one older (Madylin) and one younger (Adalia).
• He recently learned that his father isn't dead, and that he is in fact, a pirate.
• He also recently learned that he has a half-brother.

Most of these things will be touched upon in prompts, fics, and in the RP information below.

Canon Basics

Wes originally joined the Rebel Alliance as a member of the Tierfon Yellow Aces, a BTL Y-wing starfighter training squadron during the early years of the Galactic Civil War. As a member of the Yellow Aces, Janson racked up an impressive kill record and earned a tremendous reputation. He was quickly promoted to Lieutenant and was awarded the rank of True Gunner for "consistent excellence and superior performance as an officer and a gunner" according to General Jan Dodonna. Later on, Wes came down with a strain of Hesken Fever just before the Battle of Yavin, and was declared unable to fly despite his protests. Jek Porkins drew the duty of filling in for him.

Wes eventually recovered, and became one of the first members of Rogue Squadron, serving under Luke Skywalker. He soon became fast friends with Wedge Antilles, and later served as his gunner in the Battle of Hoth. After taking down one of the Imperial Walkers with a tow cable, their snowspeeder ended up crashing during the battle, and the story of their survival and escape became the stuff of legends among the fighter pilots of the Alliance.

In the years which followed, Janson remained a fixture of Rogue Squadron, serving as the team's comic relief with Hobbie Klivian. Eventually they both left frontline combat duty and were tasked with building and training new starfighter units. Then when Wedge Antilles and the rest of the reformed Rogue Squadron left the New Republic to hunt down Ysanne Isard, the New Republic needed a Rogue Squadron to keep up appearances. In response, they created a temporary Rogue Squadron led by Wes and Hobbie and filled by former Rogues. When Wedge returned, he formed Wraith Squadron, and took Wes along as his executive officer.

Upon his eventual return to Rogue Squadron, Wes participated in the Thrawn campaign. Afterwards, he was promoted to Major, and assumed command of Two Flight of the Rogues. Later the Rogues were ambushed at Distna, and after recovering from his injuries, Wes rejoined the squadron during the hunt for Prince-Admiral Krennel. He was later choosen by Wedge to go on a diplomatic mission to Adumar.

As you can probably guess, I left a while lot of stuff out, but if I told you all of it then you wouldn't have to read what I wrote and what would be the fun in that?

RP Basics

A few months after returning from Adumar, Wes was assigned as a diplomat to Terra, a planet that had inexplicably gotten some information on their galaxy. His job was to discover how they had gotten the information, and to make sure that any new developments in that regard was known to them before it was out in the public.

Fortunately, the information was leaked to a man who had made it into a series of movies and other merchandise, and the public had no idea that any part of it was real. Now Wes, along with the occasional Intelligence agents that police the planet, has to make sure that is stays that way. He is now more or less stationed on the planet until further notice.

During the last few years that he's been on Terra, he has made several friends, a few discoveries, had several adventures, and met one very special someone. He ended up getting married to Aidan Hart in 2006 after several years of dating, breaking up, living together, more breaking up, and a whole lot of making up.

He's currently residing in New York, and working as VIP level security at a club in called Confession. Or rather he was, until he was killed in an attack by as of yet unknown assailants a few weeks before Christmas in 2007.
