A Thruster Engine is a Reach variant of a jet engine on earth. However, due to the chemical corrosivity of air, a regular turbine engine would destroy itself in a matter of hours. A thruster engine uses a slow controlled burn of Carbon 122, in addition to a mix of pure gasses, to create a constant thrust. The engine is much faster than a normal Carbon 122 combuster, but also less efficient. It consumes mass at a higher rate, and is more expensive to run due to additional required materials. Due to the extra speed, it is popular during The Trans-Pole.
