Frizbee Grenades are disc-shaped, hand-held explosives. The standard frizbee weighs just under 300 grams, and is 3cm thick by 10cm in diameter. They can be thrown by hand or launched from a grenade launcher.

The metal disc and trigger mechanism are fairly easy to manufacture, and denizens of Reach have developed a wide array of payloads.

Contents

Fragmentation

The most simple and common grenade type, these have a small explosive payload, and the rest of the internal space is packed with shrapnel, and extremely lethal against living beings.

High Explosive

Used for destroying some of the harder-skinned natives, and destroying fortifications, high explosive grenades carry the same explosive material as in Fragmentation grenades, but use the entire internal space.

AeroChem

If there's one thing positive to be said about Reach, it's the chemical diversity. All sorts of complex, exotic molecules can be found all over the planet. Enterprising chemists have used these base chemicals to develop a wide variety of acids, poisons, and aerosol propellants. AeroChem grenades deliver death and destruction in a wide variety of gaseous forms.

Creeper

A particularly lethal and expensive AeroChem grenade, Creepers release a potent, but heavy mix of gases that attacks every biological system in the human body, causing gruesome deaths in it's victims. Creeper gas spreads slowly, and remains in an area for up to thirty minutes before dispersing. It is 100% lethal to humans, and almost as good against Native organisms, as the mix of chemicals is almost guaranteed to shut down one or two vital organs. It's most unpleasant feature is that the gas has a nasty way of eating through air filters, rendering gas masks useless. Only a self-contained breathing system can guarantee the user's safety.

Splatter

Similar to AeroChem, splatter grenades represent those dangerous chemicals that don't lend themselves to gaseous delivery. Generally, these are packed with a small explosive and a set of reagents that, when mixed, form one of many different chemicals, including: powerful acids, flammable compounds, and sticky foam for non-lethal captures. One noted exception are "Toy" splatters, which are packed with extremely concentrated inks, and are used as a training tool, or in Ultimate Frizbee.
