Personality
Kharivas has an instinctive, predatory side and a rational, civilized side which, understandably, are often at odds with each other.
On the 'instinct' side of the spectrum, he has an almost exclusively carnivorous diet, hunts and kills live prey and eats directly from the carcass, and enjoys the taste of blood. He does not wear clothes when he can help it, and tries never to show any sign of injury, illness, or emotional weakness.
However it is usually the polite, civilized Kharivas that other sentient beings encounter. He is fluent in Common (in fact he's mostly forgotten his first language) and properly prepares the remaining meat of his prey for any guests who might come by. He defies his instincts of solitude and xenophobia to befriend (or at least tolerate) most other sentients. Once he trusts an individual enough, he will even open up and let them know when he needs help.
He generally seeks non-violent solutions to conflict, but if his life or the life of someone he loves is being threatened, he will quickly drop his facade of civility and do what a predator does best - deal quickly, precisely, and mercilessly with the threat at hand. In this way, he has killed many intelligent beings, both human and Otherkin, and feels little or no remorse for it. One line he has sworn never to cross, though, is eating a sentient being.
Appearances
Before he was one of the main characters of Blood And Fire, he was my Author Avatar and one of my favorite roleplaying characters. He hasn't appeared in other continuities per se, but many other characters share his Recurring Name.
