Bio
Jormund has spent the better part of his life in the Gryphon Kingdom's army. For the most part, his orders have been honorable, and thus he has obeyed them. But in his heart, he holds a secret loathing for the Gryphon King. He believes that The Phoenix is still alive in some sense and merely waiting for the right moment to return. He has passed these beliefs on to Kharivas, perhaps in the hope that his son's psychic powers are a sign of hidden further potential. Though a psychic himself, he feels that he is not the "chosen one".
Personality
Jormund is a quiet, kind, and nurturing man, but also quite powerful and unforgiving to those who harm his loved ones. Needless to say, he is the reason Kharivas is who he is. His adoptive son still looks up to him as a role model and wants to someday pass on Jormund's teachings to a child of his own.
History
Jormund was originally created as an "old friend" of Kharivas, whose wife Rivas unknowingly killed in self-defense. The character was eventually re-imagined as Kharivas' father/mentor, and by all recent accounts, he has actually never been married.
