2x Artificial Seawater

1. Mix 33.6g of Ultramarine Sea Salts with 500 mL of distilled H2O.
2. Filter-sterilize. (Use Whatman #1 filters)
3. Label as "ATCC 1525 Soln 1".

2x Cerophyll Soln

1. Mix 2.5 g of Cerophyll / Cereal Leaves with 500 mL of distilled H2O in a 1-L beaker or flask.
2. Cover the opening of the beaker or flask with aluminum foil.
3. Bring to a boil (Heat - 10) for 5 minutes. There should be enough space above the liquid for the mixture to come to a complete boil.
4. Add 25 mL of distilled H20 to compensate for evaporation if necessary.
5. Filter through Whatman #1 filter paper.
6. Autoclave for 15 minutes at 121C.
7. Label as "ATCC 1525 Soln 2".

ATCC 1525 Final Soln

1. When ATCC 1525 Soln 2 is cooled, combine ATCC Soln1 and Soln2 and put the mixture into media bottles.
2. Label as "ATCC 1525"
3. Autoclave for 15 minutes at 121C.
4. Store in Media cabinet.
