- Soak a garden pea in a small amount of distilled H2O in a media bottle overnight.
- Label as "ErbsS".
- Put 1-2 cm of sand into the bottom of the bottle after the pea has soaked overnight.
- Fill the container 3/4 full with distilled H2O.
- Fill the opening of the media bottle with a cotton plug.
- Steam (not autoclave) the soln for 1 hour on 2 consecutive days. (Hot plate should be set at ~ 5-7) Start the timer for the 1 hour when you see the top part of the inside of the media bottle almost completely covered with condensation.
- Store in Media cabinet.
