This concentration of Ethanol (EtOH) is good for sterilizing equipment and work surfaces of any [[LIVE]] materials to keep them asceptic.  It is also useful for keeping [[FIX]] materials DNA & RNA free so that molecular work materials, benchtops and equipment are not cross-contaminated.
