A record label founded by the famous singer/songwriter Ian Pay, IMP obviously standing for his initials, or the fact that someone once told him he looked like one, it could be either. The record label was in bad shape, living off Ian's constant touring and his underground Ep's, especially the famous 'Smiles and Smiles' which was remixed by Fat Boy Slim and found success in dance floors across the country. However IMP Records was given a boost when they signed the upcoming magical faeries of glam folk progressive that were The Count And His Men. The catapult of their album to numero uno meant that IMP became one of the bigger indie labels on the scene, with everyone wanting to sign for them, probably just to get close to Count Nicholaus Watson but regardless, the money was rolling in. The band are currently signed on a 57 album contract, which Ian drew up while they were playing drinking games.
