The Green Eyed Posse was formed by a ragtag trio in the most unlikely of places - southern Manitoba. Originally consisting of just Allison Nelson (percussion), Jeremy Friesen (lead guitar) and Tamara Andrew (vocals), the group's composition changed a number of times before its formal dissolve in 1989. The band is the most renowned of the post-grunge, neonecrolism genre. The band was active between the years of 1984 and 1989, and released three albums; Last Time I Say...[Demo], Baby Jokes for Nickels [1987] and Commonly Misnamed Atrocities [1989].

The Voodoo Mandate was the last the world ever heard from the Green Eyed Posse. The letter goes into extreme details of an imminent zombie threat. This last publication (though a collector's item) was dismissed as drug induced and the anti-climatic rantings of what was once a ground-breaking band.

History and Membership

Nelson, Friesen and Andrew first met at a Church of Cheesus event in the summer of 1983, where the three music enthusiasts immediately began discussing the possibility of forming a contemporary music group. ...

Guiness Book Of World Records

The Most Outragous Band Of 1988: "With Concerts delving into the bizarre art form of what has been named Neonecrolism by the bands following, this band deserves every iota of its unconventional description. Waging war with rival metal bands Mennonites for Hire [1986-1990] and SOBey's and absolutely dominating them in both rhythmics and lyrics, that can only be called grotesque and beautiful Green Eyed Posse has taken 1988 by storm. This band is one with staying power and will continue to mutate the music scene for years to come." -- Guiness Book Of World Records [1988]
