Pee-Wee Herman

Pee-wee Herman is the brainchild of actor/comedian Paul Reubens, and the star of many works including the TV shows Pee-wee's Playhouse and The Pee-wee Herman Show as well as films such as Pee-wee's Big Adventure and Big Top Pee-wee.
Character History
When Reubens was a member of The Groundlings, a Los Angeles-based improvisational comedy team (where he remained a member for six years), he found himself working with Bob McClurg, John Paragon, Susan Barnes, and especially Phil Hartman, with whom developed the Pee-wee Herman character. According to Reubens, the inspiration for the character's name came from a brand of miniature harmonica called Pee-wee, and the surname of an energetic boy he knew from his childhood. Pee-wee was a happy and eccentric man-child in a small gray houndstooth suit with a short sleeved white shirt, a red bow tie, a disctinctive voice, as well as an infamous "Ha Ha" laugh, which became the character's catchphrase, along with the insult comeback "I know you are, but what am I?", which is grown to be an infamous saying among young children.
