The Major Skeletal Muscles

Movement is completed in two ways:

- When muscles contract or shorten, they pull on the bones which they are attached to which moves the bones closer together.
- When muscles relax or lengthen, they allow the bones whcih they are attatchedto, to move apart
- Skeletal muscles are made up of densly packed fibres and capilliaries.
The blood in these capillaries supplies the muscle with oxygen and nutruents which allows the contraction of the muscles to occur.
