Serebii Probably one of the best and most well known sources of material as far as the Pokemon world is concerned. Great for knowing about some of the geography of the world as well as basic Pokemon information, move lists that cover all four generations and other interesting types to go on.
Bulbapedia A wiki with a severe love of the Pokemon. Great for more detailed background information and in some cases also offer slightly better move lists. Also has a lot on basic geography and synopsis of characters and other interesting traits about Pokemon.
