Without them, the school would be nothing but a building full of kids who wouldn't know what to do. But through guidance, a strong hand, and looking out for their best interest, the faculty can do wonders.

Mrs. Emma Kindle is the strict but fair Vice Principal at a similar combat academy in another region looking for advancement/promotion. She is energetic and tends to participate actively in school functions. (ex: Chaperoning dances, roaming the halls, going to school battles, even attending sports functions or playing with the teams at practice.)

She's very hands on and seems to genuinely care about the students, fighting to make sure funding and time is spent for the betterment of all. She does however have a few questionable blackmarks on her record for mouthing off at her superiors. Some attribute this to her being passionate, those on the receiving end however claim otherwise.

Kindle believes in fair play, high morale, and honesty. She'll often talk to student to set up personal goals and give them challenges with interesting rewards to encourage greatness in everyone. If you're honest with her, she'll be honest with you. Simple as that.

Metoyer, Thaddeus

Born and raised in Hoenn, Thaddeus Metoyer spent his youth fighting in various local leagues, particularly the Meteor Falls League centered in his hometown of Fallarbor. He spent those years as a solid, working midcarder: not championship material, but reasonably talented and capable of putting in a hard day's work. After six or seven years, though, he retired after a major arm injury healed poorly; luckily, between his savings and the support of his family, he was able to go back to school, eventually leading him to a career in education that's lasted nearly twenty years. Outside of the classroom, he's mostly a family 'mon, and he and his wife of 25 years recently welcomed their first grandchild.

Mr. Metoyer's specialty is nutrition and the culinary arts, specifically in the context of the battling world -- everything from proper nutrition for battlers to catering fight events. While some might deride this as a simple subject, he's quick to explain that eating habits can make or break a fighter's career. Food is the foundation of one's strength and energy, after all, and it's strength and energy that win matches. In addition to practical classes on catering, nutrition, and cooking ("there's no excuse for a young battler not being able to fix their own meals"), he also offers a course on Food Science, rigorous enough to shock students looking for an easy science credit.

Mr. Metoyer's educational philosophy is basically identical to his personal one: integrity and good fundamentals above all. He's a friendly 'mon, and he's certainly not opposed to young people enjoying their youth; he's generally opposed to rules that unnecessarily limit students' freedom and comfort (like, say, the uniforms, although he supports a basic dress code). Nonetheless, he expects exemplary behavior from his students on school grounds and in the ring, and his policies on dishonest or unsportsmanlike behavior are firm indeed. Above all, he emphasizes in students the value of self-respect and good character -- fundamentals that make good fighters great and great fighters legends.

Mahtava, Roberta

Born and raised in Vermillion City to middle-class ghost parents, the young Roberta Mahtava was always fascinated with living things, especially plants and flowers; this led her to study biology and finally to go into a career in teaching biology and botany. Her current job is a position in a private reform school in Eterna City, Sinnoh, and she's proven to serve remarkably well in the position, making great strides in the school's science program and test scores. That said, she's long wanted to return to Kanto and take up a more challenging position at the Academy, a school she's always admired.

Roberta is a very upbeat and positive person, nearly always cheerful -- quite a surprise to those students who'd assume she's a dour or sinister person just because of her species. She's devoted to her discipline and to her students, sometimes to the point of making her a soft touch, although she's almost never a true pushover. That said, while Roberta is usually very cheerful, there's also a very slight melancholy side to her, mostly dealing with the fact that she hasn't had much of a life outside her work for some time.

As a PCA administrator, Roberta would mostly continue in the same style as her previous job: working hard, staying cheerful, and helping her students rise to her admittedly high expectations. Under her good mood is an equal mix of caring and tenacity, and she refuses to leave any student behind, even in the face of truly dire discipline or academic problems. In those situations, she'll generally take time to work with students personally, smothering them with concern and discipline in equal measure. Some call it boot camp, some killing with kindness -- but it gets results.

Root, Laertes Colfer

"If you want something done well, then do it yourself." That has been Root's motto since he was a rookie stocks market player. Known for his short temper and strong will, Laertes Colfer Root (never, ever call him by his full name) has lived on for quite some time as a reliable, albeit hardheaded, businessman, well-known for getting hands-on with almost all of his projects, and acquiring several positive results from them while he was at it. With the call from the high-class Poke Combat Academy of Higher Learning for a new Principal, Root was quick to apply for the job, with a rather heavy resume under his belt to show his qualification.

Personality-wise, Root has never been well-known for his lovability. He is rather short-tempered, quick to anger by nearly anything. Good news are often been greeted by a gruff 'thank-you' and the slamming of a door. Bad news causes Root's blood to boil, making his purple skin tone quickly turn redder and redder with every problem that comes his way, hence his nickname, 'Beetroot'. Despite his personality, Root is extremely reliable and quick to action. In the competitive market of high-class business he has learned to work hard and fast in order to keep up with his rivals. Problems are dealt with alacrity and decisiveness, in such a fashion that most 'mon barely realize what is going on at all until the situation is stabilized. Root is an embittered workaholic, and has often locked himself inside his office and remained there for days at end, until he at last barges out of it holding what was likely an extraordinary marketing campaign or an revolutionary way to utilize toilet paper that would cut rain forest tree-cutting by half.

Root, while normally short-tempered, is observant and fair, ready to listen to what others have to say before giving his final word on a given situation. He is ready to get hands-on with nearly anything, willing to go for days without sleep and food (his condition as a ghost greatly benefits him on this matter) in order to get things working the way he wants. Someone has to look through scholarship candidates and select those truly fitting of it? Leave it to Root. Its two weeks for the Sunny Day Festival and not a single schedule is planned out? He's already working on it. Paperwork? It's already done on top of his desk. The bathrooms need more soap? You get the point.

Miw-Sher, Bahiti

Bahiti Miw-Sher was born in Fallarbor Town in Hoenn. Born to a very traditional family of Zangoose she was raised at an early age to become a league fighter. Her parents, while caring, were stern teachers, especially against opponents such as Sevipers and Arboks. This was to ensure that their little girl would be more than ready and eager for victory.

During a tournament final against Racun Ular, a Seviper rival of hers, an intense motivation to win at all costs led to her critically injuring her opponent. She rushed to the hospital with him and stood by his side until he recovered, then well beyond. The experience had changed the Zangoose's outlook in life, leading to her abandoning her fighting career in exchange for life as a teacher.

Eventually, she asked Racun to marry her and, much to her surprise, her future husband agreed. The two make for an interesting but very caring couple, without showing any signs of remorse or uneasiness regarding the events that lead to their relationship. They have two children, a girl Zangoose with the markings of a Seviper and a boy Seviper with the markings of a Zangoose.

As a teacher, Bahiti specializes in teaching speed and combat maneuvers classes, as well as philosophy and history for standard academic subjects. She is known to show students what it means to be responsible mons and not purely focused on themselves, mostly drawing from personal experience -- at her old school, she would often choose a trouble-making Mon as leader of a group project, while also placing others into the group who'd dealt with bullying or constant mocking in order to let them grow and learn from one another.

The aforementioned trait developed after she had injured Racun and felt the need to take responsibility for her own actions by taking care of him and staying at his side. She does not, however, frown upon passionate fights or rivalries, instead trying to ensure that they don't boil over into matters similar to what she had experienced.

While she is very stern and serious about her work, Bahiti is never unfair and tries to create an environment where everyone's involved and important, as opposed to students attend simply to follow rules they have no say in. Regardless, once a certain route is chosen or a decision made, she will stick to said decision and enforce it without hesitation.

Bahiti has a fondness for spicy food and snacks. Outside of school Bahiti is rather chipper and carefree. She enjoys going out with her husband, be it for a nice dinner at a restaurant or a late-night movie. With her children, she often visits theme parks and sportcenters.

Rebikova, Ksenia

Most PCA students know Ksenia Rebikova from her role as a referee, primarily for admissions battle exams but occasionally for in-school matches as well. As a ref, she's stern and by-the-book, watchful and quick to call fights for unsportsmanlike behavior; even outside of the arena, she's known as a hard-minded disciplinarian. It's only in her capacity as a guidance counselor that Mrs. Rebikova shows anything of her more vulnerable side: a former aspiring dancer and single mother, someone who's made a fair number of mistakes in her life and wants to keep her charges from making the same mistakes. She's happily (if somewhat inexplicably) married to PCA economics teacher Gavril Rebikov, and their daughter Polina is a senior at PCA.

Michael Marceau is an Academy alumnus and one of the youngest combatants ever to attain international success as a Grand Champion. A bold and proud member of a minority Psychic species known to its members as Mimics (or, as the uneducated would put it, a certain misnomer beginning with the title 'Mister'), Michael is a genius in the battle ring and an angry young man everywhere else. He's fiercely outspoken against the way the media too often portrays his people (as fat little funny-faced clowns here to amuse you), and justified or not, his indignity has a tendency to get the better of him. His short professional career came to a sudden screeching halt when Michael, enraged at the bigotry directed at him by some slack-jawed ignoramus, landed the lout in intensive care. Suddenly blacklisted as a volatile brawler, the brilliant Mimic was out of a job all too soon.

Loath to let his former student's talents go to waste, Principle Felinduce granted the kid a job at the Academy as one of several battle coaches. Dedicated and true to his calling in or out of the ring, Michael's experience could prove to be a great asset to the curriculum--provided he can keep his own furious emotions in check without passing them on to a school full of ornery teenagers.

Valera, Cassidy

Cassidy was quite the antisocial independent type during her freshman year at the PCA. She reluctantly joined a team upon the insistence of its leader that the experience would be well worth the trouble. During her schooling however, she developed a rather impetuous habit of not hesitating to speak openly when she suspected that the truth of the matter at hand was being withheld. Cassidy joined the Pokemon Rangers soon after her graduation. Her skill in legitimate and improvised battle tactics has earned her a fair amount of respect amongst the Rangers. After several years of commendable service with the Rangers, she was deemed the most suitable candidate for reassignment to the PCA to act as an instructor/recruiter. Cassidy initially did not look forward going back to the PCA due to memories that she would have preferred to have forgotten. After learning that an old friend of hers was also working at the academy, her opposition to the transition was made more tolerable.

The PCA's overzealous, exhibitioning Bastiodon gym teacher, Apollo Armstrong is a burly 32 year old Bastiodon who takes his passion for physical health, FAR too seriously. Often times he will forego his shorts and walk right into his class wearing some kind of garment too similar to a bathing suit to even count as real clothing! This sort of behavior normally ends up with Armstrong being escorted out of his own classrom, and lectured about sexual harassment suits, indecent exposure, and then slapped with a fine and jail time-and yet he doesn't stop showing off his marvelous physque that his children jus HAVE to aspire for!

This double-ended ungulate-lady was once the fashion world's up and coming 'it' Giraffe, until her recent mysterious retirement, however, causing quite an uproar in the fashion world. Now she resides in one of the PCA's classrooms, looming over students wishing to earn credits for fashion design and art; there isn't a student around who doesn't fear or respect her judgement; which often gets a second opinion from her tail, a cross-dressing sort of guy named Audrey.

Artimis or Artie as he is known to friends, started out as a typical mon with not so typical brains. He excelled through his classes, getting top marks from both middle and high school and then was excepted into the top notch colleges of the day. His parents were thrilled and glad to see their son make so much of himself. (It should be noted that Artie is a former student of the PCA. He was part of Team Painted Bandits.)

Only he threw it all away. Dropping out of college Artie found himself thrust into the art scene, his talents for the arts being recognized by some of the top people of the day. The next few years became a blur of art, madness, sex and drugs, all to get a high in which he could create the art the world termed 'genius.' Though his brain and body did suffer the consequences....(He has a scar on his left side from a kidney transplant. He now only has the one now and must be on constant medication, which sometimes has the side effect of making him seem out of it or high.)

After putting a stop to everything....the drugs and even his art. Artimis found himself without a job or a living for a few years. Until he was offered one at his former school the Pokemon Combat Academy. He was surprised they took him and again he started his art, showing a more care free, laid back almost hippie nature. Quite different then almost every teacher there.

Now Mr. Wells lives in an old beat-up winnebago that is parked out back of the school campus.

Language

One of the younger faculty of Poke Combat Academy, she is against giving the grade of "F" if she can help it. This has led her to be known as one of the easiest "A"s in the school. However, those who take her and start to feel the pressure of so many subjects bearing down on them will know the mercy of this young Gardevoir, as she will pull every honorable string while pushing the failing student towards success through hard work. A teacher of the language arts, if a paper is due, and one hasn't started? She will give a reasonable extension with a reasonable penalty, nothing more. If one is not motivated, she will bring out the big guns: a heartfelt walk and talk to help open up communication between faculty and student.

She rarely ever has a student fail. Most attribute this to the perception that she's an "easy A." She prefers to say she "brings out the best in the "F"s.

Suzushiro, Nami

Nami Suzushiro is a 24 year old english teacher who happens to be the only one in her family who has not evolved by adulthood. The reasoning behind this is that Nami doesn't like the idea of being aggressive in personality, and doesn't mind being weak at all. To make sure she doesn't transmute into her bigger, angrier evolution, Nami wears an amulet made of Everstone at all times beneath her blouse; she's developed a nervous habit of fingering it between classes out of insecurity, however.

Mathematics

Laura was born and raised in Lillycove and has always been a number shark. After highschool and a couple of years traveling she finally settled down in Oreburgh to hit college and then go for a masters in Mathematics. After that she took up a job as a math teacher and a dinky academy in that very town, eventually transferring to a new district. She made her way from district to district with nothing but high marks in her teachings. Her focus has always been on calculus and trig, but will teach wherever her skill in teaching an numbers can help.

Personality wise Ms. Gice has always been one of the weaker hearts around the school. She is usually one to believe a student and go about her business, disregard how obvious an offense may be. She is one of the kinder and nicer of the faculty, always bolstering a shower them in care and they will learn to care too kind of teaching philosophy.

Has been known to melt upon the misplacing of her yellow face dots.

Mr. Blaze is an alumni of the PCA as well as a former fire fighter. Jason was forced to leave his chosen profession after a horrible accident stole the use of his arms from him. Given a second chance by the father of a child he saved, Jason was grafted with full cybernetic limbs that gave him increased strength and focus of his abilities. Unable to return to the fire department and not really able to show off his new limbs he instead took the idea of going back to school in order to become a teacher. Once he'd passed all his certification he was granted a spot at his old school in order to try and help the youth of the world become better and more civic minded 'mon.

Recent activity has also seen him recruited for other activities by the head of the Teachers Union, Professor Magnum. In an attempt to try and help those around him again Jason has started to undergo training from the great Superheroine Diamondback to try and become a hero himself. While the training has been intense and taken a lot of adjustment he's determined as ever to try and do right by the city that's granted him two chances. Now it's just a matter of if he's able to balance teaching as well as running around rooftops at night.

Edwina, Genevieve

Genevieve Edwina used to be a student of the PCA in its earlier years. She returned to teach Psychology. She pressures her students to not be "Frackin" fools and to always observe a situation before they rush in. She even encourages them that it is not hard to predict the future if they learn about how people think. Gene was called a gypsy in her teenage life, running a shack near the school. She still has her shack and sells various potions and charms. Her adopted daughter is Mena, an impatient Grovyle. Gene also became Marsh Tomp's legal guardian since he had no where to stay over summer break.

Rumor has it around campus that the Professor is milleniums old, having been alive long before species that existed before the Pokemorphs. Some rumors say he was gifted/cursed by Palkia and Dialga to wander the planet until the end of time and space after interfering in their fight so many many eons ago. Other rumors say that he's a feral Magnemite on a robot body.

Rumors are quite silly, aren't they?

The Professor is a rather easy going and cheerful 'mon, and is happily married to Mrs. Esmerelda Morgue. He is a collector of ancient artifacts, a pursuer of dreams, and can play a mean pair of spoons. He drives a Magnezone shaped hovercar, and lives in a blueshack built into the side of a very large hill.

Though not active much these days, Prof. Magnum is leader of a faculty based team known as "Team Conductor," consisting of himself, Ekewaka, Morgue, and "Buster."

Rebikov, Gavril

The current senior member of the Economics faculty, Gavril Rebikov is known for his sentimental nature and his great enthusiasm for his chosen field. If you like economics, his classes are a marvel; if you don't, they'll verge on the risible until the first assignments come back, at which point far too many students have learned that Professor Rebikov's softness doesn't extend to his grading. Still, those students who take a liking to him find him a remarkable mentor and a stauch advocate. He's married to Ksenia Rebikova, a guidance counselor and admissions administrator, and their daughter Polina is a PCA senior.

Whichway, Alexander Agustus

History

He was there when Socratese drank his poison. He was there when Shakespearow opened at the Globe theater, and he watched in terror as Pokemopolis fell. Alexander has lived a rather long life and has traveled much of the world, and is more than willing to share his knowledge as an educator of the students at PCA.

Alexander was born over a thousand or so years ago, and has been many things from a farmer to soldier, to explorer, and even the owner of a graveyard that was very popular with ghost types. Throughout it all, he has never lost his "can do" attitude. He is very fond of his toga, and wears it no matter what the current fashions of the decade may be. The reasons behind the sentiment are a mystery to all but himself.

When his students call him old school, they are not trying to be cheeky. Prof. Whichway is a big fan of Forum style education. He informs his students on what chapters need to be read as homework, and will spend the rest of the class time as open discussion. There are no taboo topics with him, and he is known to spend days in discussion until every possible avenue of conversation has been exhausted. He will even argue with himself at times, which many of the students find to be most entertaining. Some have made it a point of intrest to pit one face against another in intellectual combat.

Prof. Whichway has been a widower 4 times (all but 1 died of old age), and at this point is not interested in looking for number 5. He holds celebrations on each of their anniversaries that are open to any well-wishers. Each theme unique to that wife's tastes and culture.

Personality

"I do not consider myself older than the hills. I consider myself fortunate enough to be able to say I knew those mountains when they were still pebbles asking for advice."

Prof. Whichway is very energetic for one his age, and can be one part pestering chatter box to two parts wise old hermit. Whichway acts like a man going through a midlife crisis. He feels his age creeping up on him, but still enjoys the battles and will gladly say "I'll take you on." to any youngster that gives him lip.

She's a demure little lady, and won't hesitate to help students find whatever it is they're looking for-just for the love of god, take care not to ransack the library in any way...

In a school the size of the Poke-Combat Academy, the janitorial staff is by definition a specialized and skilled lot, and one Erasmus van der Meer serves as the school's main specialist in waste disposal; from organizing recycling and composting initiatives to cleaning out the dorms between terms, he's on top of the PCA's trash situation. Some would call this a fairly humble job, but Erasmus has a sanguine attitude about his work; he's easygoing and good-humored, and he's known to carry surprisingly advanced philosophy texts around for his off-hours. His wife Primrose runs a consignments-and-curiosities shop in Viridian, and students' abandoned possessions have been known to find their way there from time to time.
