The child of hard-luck career fighters, Wrex was left on his own after his parents' tragic suicide pact cut his childhood short. While they didn't leave any reason, he knew why... and that reason fueled him from that day forward. Foster homes feared him, schools dreaded his arrival, and soon he made an immense splash at the 'prestigious' Everstone Preparatory School, and founded the massive poison-type-only gang known as the Sikkboys. When a special tournament meant to send the top team to the Poke-Combat Academy for additional training was put into place, everyone knew the outcome before the fighting started... and in short order, the Sikkboys arrived on the scene, Wrex at the head. Wrex was born from fighters, lived around fighters, trained with fighters, and has had nearly all of his life affected by the business of leagues and battling. While most have more traditional and classic training, he is a combination of the best of the back-alley freaks and survivors, along with his own personal training and experiences. While tactically sound and viciously effective, his most dangerous aspect is his rage -- while he might not seem it, bitter hatred is what fuels him, and his own tactics-minded 'friend' Face has noticed that instead of becoming sloppy and reckless when angered, he becomes better in every way. Wrex himself knows that all he has is his rage, and he cultivates it carefully, only exploding when it's most needed.

Nicole Blackclaw is the daughter of billionaire promoter Felix Blackclaw and renowned actress Madeline Hunter. Her father was a champion of the illegal, underground fighting circuit when he was younger and from an early age she wanted to emulate him and be as good of a fighter as he was. She began training almost as soon as she was able to walk in order to do so, initially learning from both her father and conventional martial arts classes, which she had quite an affinity for. Nicole took to fighting like a psyduck to water, quickly becoming the favored pupil of Master Chiun, the meditite sensei of the martial arts dojo where she trained, despite her being a normal type. When she was eight years old she was taken by her father to meet Grand Master Huangfeili, one of the most respected fighting type masters in the world. After a brief conversation the aged master surprised both of them when he insisted on training Nicole personally. Master Huang had sensed something unusual about the girl, and shortly after beginning her initial training would realize what that was. Nicole is a one in a million aberration among pokemon - she has the spirit and soul of a fighting type trapped in the body of a normal type and a strength of chi (fighting type energy some call it) unheard of for her species. Master Huang taught her to control and channel this energy and awakened a formidable fighting spirit, better trained than most fighting types. She trained under him for years, mastering martial techniques from her hitmonlee master and blending them with those of her own. Although he dismissed her as his student a few years ago because he insisted that he had nothing more to teach her at that time, she has recently returned to training with him, as he claims that is no longer the case. Nicole has trained harder and with more determination than anyone, and is arguably the most skilled fighter in the academy. Unfortunately her drive and ambition have fueled an ego that lashes out aggressively against anyone she feels disrespects her accomplishments. As leader of the academy's top-rated team she maintains an aura of intimidation and power in order to keep the unworthy at bay. Behind her skill and training is a wicked mastermind, always plotting and scheming on many levels in order to ensure her and her team maintain their position as the best of the best.

Tenebra Blackclaw, born Helena Machsaber, ran away from a horribly abusive home at the age of five. Growing up on the streets, she was forced to endure even more abuse and learn to fight just to survive. The isolation and terrible conditions would lead her to become increasingly withdrawn and detached from the world around her, eventually abandoning her emotions altogether. After a brutal attack left her near death, allowing the Shadow to corrupt this void in her soul was the only way to survive. Unfortunately this corruption would grow, turning her into a full-fledged Shadow pokemon by the time she was fourteen - a soulless, merciless fighting machine.

But she never gave up that last little spark of hope in her soul, which was awakened when she met promoter Felix Blackclaw after one of her many pit fights. He offered her a chance to escape the life that she had been forced into, and after learning about her true age and past, which mirrored his own, adopted her as his own daughter. This act of compassion put a crack in the blackness of her heart but she remains a near-emotionless shell with little capacity to understand or relate to others in any way other then fighting. Her adoptive father used his connections and influence to get her enrolled in the academy, hoping that interacting with others would help her change this, but she simply doesn't know how.

Tenebra is an absolute monster in a battle. She has over a decade's worth of experience fighting near-constantly in some truly brutal environments. She's exceptionally strong and unbelievably tough, seemingly feeling no pain and fighting with the relentlessness of a horror movie monster. Her Shadow corruption has made her the ultimate survivor, able to recover from injuries at an alarming rate, but at a cost - use of her Shadow abilities takes its toll on her overall life force. While they might keep her from being hurt in the short term, they're killing her in the long term. It's just a question of whether she can recover from what her life has done to her and throw off the Shadow before it's too late.

Raised in a British family from Lilycove City, Demeter mostly spent time between her family, boyfriend and hanging out with the wrong kind of crowd. A bit of ego, mix in a bit of vanity and a dash of creepy--And you have almost all the things that sum up Razi. The Arbok was born in Kanto, and, raised there for most of his life. While the rest of his family moved to Hoenn, Razi remained behind to go to PCA. Razi tends to carry himself with a bit of a 'know it all' air around him... Not exactly rude or mean in any way, but, often times he can say things how they are, no sugarcoating it. It doesn't help however that he loves rumors, if there is one going around the school, it's likely he was the one who first heard about it last week. All of this combined usually results in people calling him a 'creeper', while he claims that he is only a little eccentric. When he isn't reading, writing, and sticking his nose into other people's business, the Arbok is often out training in an attempt to sculpt his body to what he thinks is perfection.

Theodore Cromwell was born in Viridian City, raised by his parents, Lucia, who owns a small bakery, and Anthony Cromwell, owner of a car mechanic shop. Since he was little, Theodore was constantly picked on by other kids, and he barely had any friends, so he tried to find something to amuse himself. That’s when he discovered he has a talent for mechanics and electronics, fixing broken stuff or even making up new inventions. With time, his skills improved to a far more impressive level, since at a young age he was already able to construct and program several robots that successfully assisted around the house. His father helped him set up a lab in the abandoned garbage incinerating facility on the junkyard not far from their place, outside the city, where he began preparations for his next big project: fully operational, combat ready mech. One day as he was walking around the junkyard, looking for anything that may be put to use, he stumbled upon a rather big pile of metal and electronic pieces, with some strange marks over it and one big stamp saying “SCRAPPED”. He managed to get it to his lab and after further studying, he realized it’s possibly a scrapped military project, but what bothered him is how it ended up in a public waste disposal area. He realized a large portion of it, including the technology, can be used in his project, but he needed help. As soon as he signed in the Pokemon Combat Academy, he caught attention of one of the professors, Ms. Raine Cameroon, and quickly befriended her. He decided to show her his project, surprised she actually had shown some interest in it and offering her help. With time he made friends with other scientific minds on the campus, including young Tyranitar female Fey Hardstep. At first being reluctant about her offering him help with the project, Theo decided to give her a chance, and soon two became inseparable partners, with time, even a couple. Not some time later, her sister Lorna also became a part of the loving relationship, and despite many folks telling their relationship wont last long, they are still together, loving and caring about each other. Even though Theo rarely gets to battle, being an alternative member of Team Pantheon, once he gets into action he becomes a slow, yet extremely powerful and brutal fighting machine, sweeping everything in his path using his enormous strength. Where Xander and Fey fail, he is sure to succeed, since he doesn’t just simply charge at his opponents, but rather thinks out of possible strategies first, then strikes down any foe that gets in his path.

Eric DeLane is the son of two famous arena battlers, though it was his older brother Matt who initially took up the family trade. Unwilling to start a rivalry with his older brother, Eric took only a minor interest in battling, instead focusing his energy on his artistic talents. He followed his brother into the academy, but took up study in promotions and graphic design to supplement his battling curriculum. Near the end of his sophomore year Eric's father was diagnosed with a rare illness and the family moved away so that he could receive treatment. Eric attended an art school in Hoenn while his brother was drafted into a professional league. After Eric's father passed away he and his mother returned to Kanto, eager to leave the bad memories behind, and Eric re-enrolled in the Poke-Combat Academy. His father's death re-invigorated Eric's interest in battling and he threw himself into his battle classes, taking extra courses in order to make up for lost time. His newfound determination has driven him to follow his brother into the professional leagues in order to honor his father by forming a two-mon team with Matt. He has also kept up with his artistic studies, and works himself to the point of exhaustion sometimes. While his battling experience may be a bit behind that of his classmates, he picks up the slack with creativity and determination. Having transferred mid-year Eric is not on a team and battles as an independent, though he has been courted by several interested parties.

Born in Ecruteak City, Inzen was an average nidoran if not on the small side. His motherwas a nidoqueen, father was a nidoking--Two species considered likely quick to anger. Although when he was born, his parents noticed how small he was and had named him Inzen, which meant 'latent power'. The first time he evolved seemed to make this name come true as, he had nearly tripled in size and had not yet finished growing, which then he became even taller, freakishly so, when he became a nidoking. Despite his large size, the nidoking is very kind, polite, and shy due to where he grew up which had a very 'Osaken' influence. Although practicing at the PCA and now finally in his senior year, he takes his traditional highschool classes much more seriously, as well as his outside hobbies, one of which includes botany. However, his true nature will always remain and when confronted in battle, he acts much more like the stereotypical nidoking.

Agni's just your typical down-to-earth, laid back kind of dude. He doesn't seem to care about what goes on with the world these days too much. He tends to portray somewhat of a aloof attitude and be quite a weirdo at some points around his family but mostly sticks to the role of a cool guy.

He's one of the many long descendants from a old clan that has taught several forms of martials arts throughout the centuries. Hailing from a southeast area in Celestic Town at the Sinnoh Region, he's the firstborn of a newer generation to parents who are also Fire-Types. His mother, Rei works as a assistant teacher in the family Dojo while his father, Daigo is usually out on his job currently a Engineer. While those two are somewhat busy, Agni spent most of his time training under his grandpa's supervision.

Around a decade later, Agni and his family moved out of Sinnoh and resided somewhere in Kanto, now currently living in Celadon City away from the city limits and with the help of his grandpa, he now attends the PCA just basically doing his own personal thing.

Neon is a foreign exchange student hailing from a distant land across the seas. She is believed to have been raised in moderate isolation, giving her a natural curiosity about the world she finds herself in, especially the goings-on at the Academy. Courteous and nice almost to a fault, she carries calm, smooth air about herself even in the heat of battle. Her words are poetic and carry a distinct accent when she speaks, solidifying her as one new to this culture.

As a battler, she carries the fighting prowess any Dragon would be known for, having tremendous power and amazing resilience in the arena. One would never think that such a gentle individual would be capable of fighting like she does, but as a book should never be judged by its cover, nor should a battler at such a prestigious Academy. Neon acts at Team Indigo's wildcard, unleashing a plethora of varied attacks to mix up her routine and acting as a support fighter when needed. Her cheerful disposition has also led her to become her team's supporter on the sidelines as well, often giving out words of encouragement and inspiration.

Lorissa's mother Alicia graduated from the Poke-Combat Academy with high hopes and an excellent record, landing a contract with one of the local Kanto leagues. Thrilled to be out of school and with success on the horizon she took up a wild lifestyle, partying non-stop while she waited for her chance to shine in the local leagues. Unfortunately a preliminary medical examination would prove that Alicia's wild lifestyle was not without consequence, and that she was pregnant. Alicia wasn't even sure who the father could be, and wasn't even sure if she would be able remember his name. Having to raise her daughter alone left the aggron no time for her own arena career, but rather than be bitter Alicia saw it as a wake-up call, realizing that the path she was headed down would not have ended well.

Lorissa never had much of an interest in battling but her mother pushed her into it, subconsciously wanting to live out her own abandoned dreams through her daughter. Lorissa did well in grade school and was accepted into the Poke-Combat Academy, as are most children of alumni, but never did show much of a devotion to battling. Always something of a gearhead, Lorissa decided to major in Arena Maintenance, which was really just a way for her to work on cars and things in the garage as part of her education.

During her junior year Lorissa joined a heavy metal style school band as the drummer along with current teammate Faran Kane. When Faran was invited to join Team Doom by team leader Marcus Hellbourne, Faran invited her along as well, hoping that she would share their appreciation for all things dark. She didn't, but joined anyway for lack of anything better to do. Her team makes passing grades, which is good enough for her, since she concerns herself more with mechanics than battles. She remains with the team because of the endless amusement they provide, and is regarded as the only one on the team with an ounce of sense.

Lorissa's mother was a talented fighter and taught Lorissa a great deal about battling when she was younger. She has a lot of potential but has just never shown an interest in living up to it. During a battle she excels at getting in the way. She's remarkably tough and can take quite a beating as well as dish one out, she just doesn't usually have the drive to excel to her full ability.

Lorna's family hails from the poorer section of Pallet Town. Her mother stayed home to raise the kids, her father tried his best to hold down a job. Things looked bleak until a routine purchase of a lottery ticket for the Kanto Regional lottery paid off, making the Frost family rich overnight. Like many in such a position, they used their newfound wealth in an irresponsible manner, wasting and splurging it all on things they didn't need. One of the few things they invested their money in wisely was tuition for their eldest daughter Lorna at the Poke-Combat Academy of Higher Learning, though they did so to impress their new neighbors in Viridian City more than out of a concern for her education.

Something of a scrapper Lorna was able to squeak by the school's entrance exams, but she has absolutely no work ethic. Lacking the talent or drive to actually succeed with the opportunity she had been given, she resorted to other means in order to get ahead. Blessed with good looks and abundant "assets" Lorna set about manipulating vulnerable males at the academy in order to get her way. She has slept her way onto several teams, usually just long enough to pick up a few wins and boost her grade before moving on. Her current boy toy is Marcus Hellbourne, leader of the often-ridiculed Team Doom. She brings virtually nothing to the team but the houndoom lacks the backbone to get rid of her. As for Lorna, she stays with the team not only because they manage to make passing grades but because Marcus is fairly wealthy, and she knows a good deal when she sees it.

Lorna is an unpleasant, ill-tempered girl who evaluates everyone based on what she can get out of them. She has rather feeble skills in combat although she does have some effective disabling attacks that can be frustrating to battle against, and every now and then she manages to get lucky.

Danny has always been extremely spoiled but neglected. This has formed him into a complete douchebag and ball of ragehate for everything that exists. He aspires to become a fighter only because his father doesn't want him to, and he's damn good at it. It's really hard to keep up a conversation with him, let alone enjoy his presence, and will probably keep him as a permavirgin. Teaching Danny to love would be like teaching a fish to fly.

Corbec grew up in Sinnoh's Floarama Town, near endless fields of flowers, rivers and forest, clean air and sunshine, and spent every hour possible in his mother's basement on message boards and running tabletop games for his friends, a tradition he proudly continues to this day. Shy, soft-spoken (except when weaving his stories for his tabletop group) and a great lover of food of every kind and nationality, Corbec trundled through his first three years at the PCA, flitting between teams, he finally landed in Team BP's talons at the end of the previous year when they were desperate for anyone to fill the fourth slot in their roster, and he's never lived it down since, downtrodden and stepped on every squidgy step of the way.

Marcus is a third-generation student at the Poke-Combat Academy. His maternal grandfather graduated from there as did both of his parents, both of whom enjoyed some success in the professional leagues. It was only natural that they would enroll him in the academy as well. Marcus, however, is far from the friendly and outgoing one in his family. Marcus has always taken the dark and fire aspects of his type far too seriously, developing an interest in the occult at a fairly early age. His parents thought it was just a phase he would grow out of but that proved not to be the case.

Marcus has an obsessive interest in the occult and an impressive knowledge of legends, lore, and associated mysticism. He fancies himself some sort of warlock, entreating otherworldly spirits and uttering invocations of power whenever he uses his powers and abilities. While most everyone finds his antics laughable, his dark and fire type attacks do seem to pack a bit more punch than they normally would. Nobody is really sure why.

Shortly after midterms last year Marcus decided that he would forge Team Doom, a team of the greatest, most powerful fighters in the academy, in order to spread fear and darkness throughout its halls. Unfortunately for him it hasn't worked too well. His girlfriend Lorna, whose battle skills are best described as feeble, insisted on joining and he lacked the backbone to say no to her. His second recruit was a blaziken named Faran Kane who takes his heavy metal music as seriously as Marcus takes the occult. The team was completed with the addition of lairon Lorissa Fernacio, a bandmate of Faran, who came along because she didn't have anything better to do. Compounding this assortment of less than dominating battlers is the fact that Marcus has no idea what he's doing as a leader.

Marcus would be dangerous if he had a clue. Fortunately for everyone else he spends most of his time in his own little world plotting schemes that never get off the ground. While he isn't terrible in a battle he isn't very good either. Although his ranged attacks do pack quite a punch he doesn't really have any tactical sense and is easily taken off of his game. He has the potential to be very good if he would spend more time training and less time making offerings to the fel ones for power, but then what would Lord Balthazzar, Keeper of the Eternal Flame of Suffering have to say?

Louis Hopper had a nice life, a good family, and a decent upbringing. He just couldn't stop *doing*. No amount of medication, no amount of counseling, no amount of punishment could stop the little Croagunk from turning everything upside down whenever the mood struck him. Eventually, his parents tried one last resort; at the advice of friends, they enrolled Lou into a sanctioned Junior League.

It was like tossing a match in a room full of blasting powder. He took to the sport with reckless abandon, and was everyone's friend and enemy at the same time; he'd alternate between friendly and feisty at the drop of any hat, and the only time he really seemed focused was when he was fighting. This did intrigue his parents, but they knew a normal school couldn't contain him, so Louis was trotted off to Everstone Prep.

As a fighter, Lou makes good use of his erratic nature, having created his own 'non-style' that looks so haphazard and inefficient that most opponents would brush him off as pathetic... which is exactly what he wants. Everything is calculated, thought-out and executed with the appearance of chaotic lashing-out, but somehow finds a way to hit, startle and disorient his opponent enough to let him finish the job. All the while, he grins and chuckles -- after all, it's all a game to him.

Curious, friendly, and very, very outgoing, Johanna joined the PCA the beginning of her sophomore year from another, smaller academy in her hometown of Sunyshore, Sinnoh. Something of a punk rock girl, her flaming hair, piercings, and light dab of purple makeup mix with her wallet chain and band t-shirts to mark her as such, capable of going on about which member of the Moonstone Killers of Vendor Thrash is her favorite (it's Vinnie). Something of a counter for her enthusiasm, she does suffer from mild narcolepsy, triggered from any extreme emotion she feels, either happiness or stress, making her sleep-moves useful in battle, as it triggers when she's on her last leg, but can make for some awkward situations among friends and lovers alike.

While defensive in battle, her attitude is overt and in-your-face at times, and her driving of her hand-me-down beater that's seen many a concert parking lot shows it. If you're going to ride her ass, you can at least pull her hair.

Yun Kagame was born and raised in Cherrygrove City, her mother, Asuka working as a cashier in the nearby Pokemart, while father, Toshiro owned a dojo, training some of the best future fighters, including Yun and her brothers, Daisuke and Shiro as well. At the age of 9, after her cousin Jamie who she was very close with, moved away, she suddenly evolved into Scizor, but with some side effects that were unexpected: her claws were larger than usual, legs daintier and abdomen drastically smaller. Other kids made fun of her and called her a freak, constantly picking on her. For some time she was bothered by that, until her father talked to her, convincing her that what she got wasnt an accident or curse, but a gift she must put to good use. She began intensive training and with years, she developed a strong character, never allowing anyone to pick on her, her friends or family. As she grew older, some of her physical deformations disappeared, becoming a girl whose looks attracted a lot of boys. At the age of 15, before signing in to the Pokemon Combat Academy, she spent her summer in a camp, where she met Victor Drake, a rather troublesome Scyther she fell for immediately. Didnt take her too long to actually realize that he was treating her as a mere object and trophy, as in the next few days she broke up with him. Not allowing her to embarras him in front of his so-called friends, he challenged her to a battle, using dirty tricks while trying to beat her, but still failing to do so. As summer ended, she finally signed in the Academy, where she first made friends with a shy, quiet Gardevoir, Annie McCormick, and two boys, Zeke Morrison and Xander Thompson, and joined their team. Despite the fact she disagreed often with Zeke's strategies during battles and constantly arguing with him, claiming that she can't stand him a single bit, they began to grow strong feelings for each other, and soon started a relationship. Didnt take her long to find out Victor followed her to the Academy, for reasons yet unknown, although she asumes why is he there, constantly "accidentally" running into her or Zeke. So far he only challeneged her boyfriend once and lost the match, but she is aware that he may be up to something else.....with time, she realized she had developed a taste for girls as well, which confused her at first, but later on she just let it completely take over, as she was still in relationship with Zeke, yet going here and there flirting with several girls. Zeke was aware of this, and made an agreement with her: As long as she's not with boys and as long as it's nothing serious, he's OK with her "activities". Despite being a kind and talkative person, Yun also has moments where she acts sassy or even rude towards someone, mostly thanks to her stubborn behavior. When she sees a girl she likes, she wont stop until she "conquers" her, which means she may sometimes get too pushy. Still, she knows her limits, and if someone says no, she will stop. In battle, Yun takes the role of striker, moving quickly across the arena and using her speed to confuse and wear out her target, not letting them have a moment of peace, delivering crushing attacks and quickly moving away. Thanks to her training skills and incredible abilities, Yun is known as one of the Academy's fastest fighters.

Faran Kane (real name Fred Kanezewicz but he'll never let anybody know that) was born to average parents in an average suburb of Pewter City. His parents had average jobs, an average income, and lived in an average home with average neighbors. Faran hated every moment of it. Bored out of his skull since as far back as he could remember, he would throw himself into one extreme undertaking after another in an effort to alleviate the boredom. Most of these things wouldn't last long, but finally he discovered the multi-layered joys of heavy death metal music. It gave him an outlet for his pain and misery (read as boredom) and allowed him to piss off his parents, teachers, and everyone else who came in contact with him.

Throwing himself into the heavy metal image he developed a fondness for fighting and a certain amount of skill to go with it. His parents enrolled him in the Pewter City Combat Academy, where he did rather well in battles but not so well in academics. His grades slipped into failing and after several unsanctioned fights against all the wrong people to be picking fights with (the principal's son, for one) he was expelled. Calling in a few favors his parents managed to have him enrolled in the Poke Combat Academy of Higher Learning, one of his former school's regional rivals, midway through his junior year. Wasting no time in pissing off the wrong people, he immediately set about insulting the P.C.A. and its fighters while touting the accolades of his former school. Upon learning that the leader of the school's newly-crowned top-rated team was a mere meowth, and just a girl, he made a royal pest of himself until she agreed to fight him.

Faran didn't let the humiliating defeat that followed stop him from his quest to make an ass of himself. His devotion to all things dark and brooding drew the attention of fellow outcast Marcus Hellbourne, and the two formed a team in order to wreak their vengeance upon a school and society that had scorned them. Instead they and Team Doom have become something of a joke with the two delusional, overbearing firebreathers as the punchline.

Faran is a rude, misogynistic ass with a ready insult for anyone who isn't dark, brooding, and "metal" enough to pass muster, which is pretty much everybody. He gives no thought to the consequences of his words or actions nor does he show any ability to learn from the aftermath that follows. Faran is a pretty good fighter, albeit a one-sided one. His strategy consists of hitting his opponent until they fall down and stop moving. If it doesn't work, he just hits them harder. If it still doesn't work, it's somebody else's fault.

Headed for a somewhat average preteen life in a somewhat average school, fate would throw her and the Mastic family for a frightening loop. What started as a nasty spill from the jungle gym during P. E. turned into a sudden seizure at school... and once at the hospital, it was all the doctors could do to save her from the surprising amount of hemorrhaging found in her brain. Amanda made it through four surgeries and a few close calls, but spent nearly three months in the hospital amassing a frightening bill... that only continued to grow. Even after her release, Amanda needed years of rehab simply to regain her previous command of speech and motor functions, and even with the help of friends and charities, the Mastics were in a tight spot. All of the boys, now adults but still crazy about their 'little bro', put aside post-grad dreams for jobs to help pay down Amanda's debt... leaving Amanda feeling intensely guilty.

On her thirteenth birthday, as she blew out the candles on her cake, she swore that she'd repay everyone for their sacrifices, even if it took her everything she had.

After that day, either by miracle or sheer will, Amanda's physical and mental improvement was rapid, dramatic, and stunning to her physicians -- some were certain she'd never walk or talk again, and instead, Amanda was participating in (regulated and sanctioned) junior battle leagues... against their wishes, or course. It was only on her seventeenth birthday that she finally got the 'all clear' from her primary doctor, and as soon as that was done, a scholarship from the prestigious Everstone Preparatory School was in Amanda's hands. The rest... well, all it took was some dropped food and a certain Tentacruel being there to bring about destiny.

When she's fighting, she's a different person altogether -- a situation where only the moment matters suits her perfectly. An all-around fighter, her greatest asset is the determination and willpower that turned her entire life around, and she's been known to get up repeatedly from attacks that feasibly should've put her down. While her doctor still worries about her possibly injuring herself, she's far tougher now than she was before, and has her mind set on getting into pro shape so she can pay her family back for all they've given her. That is her real and only goal, and it drives her unceasingly.

The quiet and reserved psychic of Team Pantheon Annie McCormick, full name Annabelle McCormick, comes from the family of nobles, their enormous estate located outside Petalburg City. Her father, duke Julian McCormick, descendant of some of the world's famed warriors, was known for his kindness, generosity and bravery, always helping out those in need, and was a leader of the Hoenn's famed rescue team, Team Scarlett Rose (in honor of his wife, since scarlett rose was a symbol of all women in the family). When Annie was 6 years old, she was kidnapped by Lucius Hannigan, known in the underground as the most vicious and efficient assasin, in order to force her father to fight him alone. Despite his superior combat style and experience (he managed to severely injure Lucius, who lost his left eye during the battle), Julian was cowardly killed after Lucius pretended he gives up and begged him to spare his life. Whitnessing her father dying before her eyes, Annie suffered a severe shock. Lucius was preparing to kill her as well, but Julian's teammates arrived in the nick of time, yet Lucius managed to escape. Annie, her mother and Julian's younger brother, of all the family grieved mostly over the loss, and Annie became extremely quiet and distant over time. During one night, she had the dream of that event again, experiencing such shock that she immediately evolved into Gardevoir, premature evolution causing her to lose some of the features Gardevoirs were known for, one of which was her "dress". Not a long time after the evolution, she began to slowly recover, thus, uncover her psychic abilities, and her uncle saw great potential in her. With time she fully recovered but was still rather quiet and shy. Wanting only the best for her, Annie's mother and uncle signed her in the prestigious Pokemon Combat Academy in Viridian City, Kanto, keeping her origins hidden from others. Soon after arriving to the Academy, Annie made friends with Yun Kagame, Zeke Morrison and Xander Thompson, and joined their newly established team. Still rather quiet and in the background, Annie spent most of her time training and trying her best to find out who hired the unknown, at least for her, Seviper that killed her father and attempted to kill her, with time realizing it might be someone from within the family, possibly relatives. She soon made friends with Nicholas Hannigan, leader of Team Apoplexy, and later on, fell in love with Ray Aquos, and started a relationship with him. The time she spent with young Kyogre helped her build a stronger personality, no longer being the shy and quiet Annie everyone knew before. In battle, Annie uses her mix of offensive and defensive attacks, depending on the situation to either aid and protect her teammates, or stop her opponents. Despite the fact she's not strong physically as her teammates, she makes up for it with her incredible psychic abilities only a few in the academy can stand against.

Nonetheless, he's a sharp battler who can alternate between the usual Shuckle grind-and-wait tactics and a devastating (and risky!) all-out offensive assault that only the most durable and perceptive of battlers could hope to deal with. For him, though, it isn't really about the fight so much as it is about the people he's fortunate to meet along the way -- that's what keeps him happy.

Being a person of a calm and serious approach, yet a friendly individual who is always willing to help anyone, Zeke has gained a lot of freinds and respect from many opponents and rivals, yet like everyone else, he gained some enemies who envy him for his status and reputation. Despite his friendly attitude, Zeke never allows anyone to look down or insult him or his friends, even less his teammates and all they achieved, and despite the fact he never aimed at being "best of the best", he wont allow anyone or anything stand in his and his team's path, no matter what they do. Raised by her aunt who happened to be a police officer, Blaze was presented with the battling techniques of peacekeepers from an early age, giving her a unique edge when enrolling into the Academy. A culmination of diverse attacks and a few crippling support moves has given her a solid base from which to battle on, and even outside the arena those hypnotic, ruby-red eyes can appear to capture the mind of anyone she stares at. As Team Indigo's strategist and tactical fighter, Blaze possesses the ability to come up with ingenious plans of battle and can switch tactics on the fly depending on how the situation evolves during the fight. Owing to her investigative nature, she has a knack for figuring out opponents and spends much of her time observing others around her when she's not busy with schoolwork.

When not battling, she normally she keeps to herself; a quiet, studious individual who always seems to be pondering something. She is by no means shy, however, as anyone who's met eyes with her has found out. She is a strong, confidant female who never judges, but always seems to have a good idea of the character of people she meets. She hopes to graduate from the Academy not as a prize fighter, but to prepare for a future role as a cop, inspired by her aunt.

While seeming to be the Quiet One, the Tentacruel known as Sting by his teammates hides much under his quiet demeanor. In short, Emmanuel O'Worren isn't what he seems to be; his papers are masterfully forged, his identity crafted and bought with the best talent money could buy/bribe, and even his mind has a number of mental 'blocks' put in place to prevent psychic prying revealing his secret. Sting acts as the eyes, ears and hand of the notoriously amoral Creston Toliver, and his main purpose for being sent to Everstone Preparatory as a well-concealed ringer was to find, study and mark potential talent for recruiting outside of school grounds. Outside of these tasks, he has free reign to act as he wishes, and a rather large stipend to do whatever he needs to do to get the job done.

Manny doesn't even know his real age, but Creston believes him to be in his mid-20s, thankfully something that can be overlooked due to his somewhat small stature and the scads of painful surgery and recovery he had to go through. He looks young, but inside of him is a pit-bred fighter with more years of battle experience than some PCA members have years being alive. He is, of course, careful to rein himself in and portray himself as capable, but not blooded...

... unless he can get away with it. And sometimes, in the heat of battle, a stinger lashed just so, or a limb being bent just so can have effects that don't seem all that apparent from the stands. When he can pull it off, Sting fights to inflict immense pain -- working joints, heavy poisoning and tentacle-lashes in sensitive places are just a few dirty tricks he employs. Perhaps his most sinister trick is his 'Iron Maiden' combination -- laying out Toxic Spikes, and then intentionally slamming a target into them, usually followed with a Wrap, Wring Out or Constrict to let them dig in even deeper. Some people wonder what Fernando was doing in Everstone Prep. He seemed the put-together type -- smart, funny, a snazzy dresser and... popular, to an extent. He himself doesn't say what got him there; in fact, Face doesn't say very much about himself at all. He prides himself on secrecy about his past, his fighting style (he's somehow managed to avoid actively fighting in front of more than five people, and even then limited himself!) and his reasons for joining the Sikkboyz. All he does is nod, smile, and make some silly comment about 'chasing the rough boys'.

In fact, Fernando sees the Sikkboyz as the perfect opportunity to test out his skills at managing and leading 'soldiers' into 'battle' -- to him, battle is one great chess game, where the stakes are high and the play much more chaotic and enjoyable than that of a mere boardgame. Still, he can and will get his hands dirty when it's needed -- while the Boyz have seen what he can do, they're always tight-lipped about his capabilities. Face himself says little, shows less, and holds in much more than people realize. After all, the best-laid plans are the ones an opponent never knew you could pull off to begin with.

Sad Sack, commonly called Sad or Sads (depending on if you feel like adding an 'S' really) for short, is generally a neutral or downright apathetic guy more-so than a sad one. In fact, he's rarely sad at all. He's more or a less the "I don't give a rattata's ass" kind of person. He goes by "I do whatever I feel like, when I feel like it" and usually just goes for whatever benefits him best. Hey, it might be a sleazy way to get around, but you do what you can.

Born a single child in the Thompson family and raised by his parents, Roxanne and Maxwell, Xander was always known as a loud and kinda hyperactive kid. He was always full of energy and up to something. As he grew older, he became interested in two things: cooking (since his parents own a restaurant in Lavaridge Town) and fighting. The latter one more so since he posessed, as his grandfather would say, "a helluva fighting spirit, even for someone who's only one part fighting type". It wasn't far from truth since even when he was younger Xander was able to fend off bullies in many cases that were bigger and older than him. Shortly after his grandfather decided to begin his training his parents received unexpected guests in their old friend, Lucy Barret Morrison. She brought with herself two of her children, Julia and Zeke, seeking for refuge. Despite the fact Zeke was terribly distant from others and rarely talked to anyone, Xander managed to make friends with him and they both began to train together. Soon after they arrived to the prestigious Pokemon Combat Academy of higher learning and made friends with two girls, Yun Kagame and Annie McCormick. Xander proposed they all form a team and suggested Zeke as the leader, to which everyone agreed. Xander became known for his pranks which were targeted at both students and faculty members alike. Despite sometimes being loud and obnoxious he was extremely polite towards the girls. Close to the end of the Junior year, he met the leader of Team Frostbite, a Glaceon named Gloria Masterson, and despite the warnings from others regarding her behavior and attitude, he fell in love with her and soon they started a relationship. Not a long later he found out about her obsessive and sometimes maniacal behavior, but couldn't think of how to end with her. After she attacked Yun for merely speaking to him he decided that's the last straw and finally bluntly broke up with her. Despite feeling a bit of relief he was still heartbroken and rather depressed at times. That's when a young Zangoose girl from Team Strike, Xiao Bai, noticed and tried to comfort him. After a short friendly conversation, he began to like her, and after meeting with her again at the beginning of the Senior year, he began to grow stronger feelings for her, and decided to approach her finally. The problem was, he couldn't find the right timing, and he would get completely lost when he tried to talk about it in front of her, so he figured he'd ask her during a battle. As their teams arranged a friendly match, he was more prepared for asking her out than the battle itself. When the match began, he quickly managed to intercept her as she prepared for his attack, only to be caught off guard as he took her hands and the emotions practically came out, much for the surprise of both spectators, refs and combatants. He told her what he felt about her and finally asked her if she would go on a date with him. Instead of an answer, he received a kick in the head, delivered by Xiao's teammate Ginger who he managed to temporarily knock down before heading for Xiao. His team lost the match, and he felt responsible for that and remained in the locker room to think about what he did and how much of a fool he made of himself. As he left the room, he noticed Xiao waiting for him next to the door. She asked him if all he told her was true or just an attempt to make her lower her guard so he can attack her. He confirmed that all he said was nothing but truth but told her to forget all about it since he made a fool of himself in front of her. Much to his surprise, she still decided to give him a chance and they started their relationship after the first date. He was still loud and prone to joking around, yet has calmed down a bit. In battle, Xander takes the role of the team bruiser heading after both faster and stronger opponents. With over a decade of training he's became an extremely efficent fighting machine, using his strength and crushing blows to help him win battles. There is one small thing that makes Xander such a force to deal with: he knows how to control his fear. He did show some concern at times, but his inability to realize potentially dangerous situations is why he often gets in over his head, that's why he leaves all the thinking to Zeke. "Heh, where he points me, I will be making a lot of mess there", as he often says.

Storm is the organizer of Team Indigo, known for his great charisma and leadership skills. A gifted surfer hailing from Olivine City, he was originally trained by an aging (and probably half-senile) Hitmontop from overseas. From some rather unorthodox, but effective, training methods, Storm was taught how to make up for his own body's frailty by using his limitless agility, blinding speed, and powerful special attacks to quickly take down his opponents. He is nigh-untouchable through his movements, and deadly accurate with his electricity, using his species natural aptitude for ion-manipulation to supercharge his attacks. Extremely creative and infinitely resourceful, Storm can quickly adapt to changes in his opponents' styles and is able to mix up his techniques to keep them on their toes throughout the whole match.

Outside the arena, however, he seems to be rather absent-minded. He's quite laid-back and carries a goofy sense of humor that keeps him upbeat even in the most despirate of situations (he's even been known to crack a jokes in the middle of his battles). It's not from lack of caring, though; on the contrary, he's got a big heart and cares deeply for his team. He always tries to be cheeful, helping those who might not be able to help themselves at times, though it occasionally diverts his attention away from his studies. Above all, he does his best to provide for his team, which has helped them progress through the ranks rather smoothly.

Stiletto was born into an abusive home with a father who constantly beat her out of rage (it was he who gave her the permanent X-shaped scar on her face) and a mother who always blamed her for her lover's anger. Once her father discovered his daughter's inclination for fighting, however (mostly due to being unable to control her OWN anger), she was suddenly thrust into the world of underground fighting for the amusement, financial gain, and "training" of hard-edge fighters of the streets. The den was eventually taken out in a police sting operation and Stiletto found herself moving from foster home to foster home, still having a penchant for fighting at the slightest provocation as she had known no other way of life. It was through a suggestion of a therapist that she was enrolled into the PCA with hopes that the experienced staff would help her control her aggression better with a battle-centered curriculum. It didn't really effect her much until suffering a humiliating defeat at the hands of Neon, who took pity on her and offered a spot in her new team.

Stiletto has calmed down considerably since then, finding a group of receptive peers in Team Indigo who all seemed to know just how to respond to her aggressive tendencies in the right way. It also helped that they seemed to genuinely care about her well-being.

The result is a tough fighter who knows how to tear down any defense, with the stamina to keep going even when the odds are against her. She carries a striking, cold ferocity that doesn't back down and rarely, if ever, has reason to once she has her mind set on a goal. She is extremely loyal to her teammates and will do anything within her power to bring out the best in their abilities. Now that they've helped her deal with her anger better, she possesses to the focus to make it happen, too.
